February 24th 2018 - Manfield 1 Coventry 1

Jordan Willis red card 14 mins

1-0 down 16 mins - Practically Played the whole game with 10 men against in form Mansfield it was looking desperate but our players got there sleeves rolled up and the 1,600 got behind the team

JCH with a late penalty equalizer

This was the game that i think the players fans and management never looked back from that day

Totally agree... I remember that game vividly.

The Willis red card... Being behind the goal when that free kick was deflected and trickled in.

Played well 2nd half but being a man down hurt us.

Then the JCH pen. Best moment of his career here. The decision was worse than the Bayliss one in the POs. Then he had the balls to step up and place it in.

Mansfield win that and we would have been in a world of pain... Didn't we beat Wycombe days later?

I think winning the JPT Final went a long way to instilling a sense that we could actually win the big games too. Even so i always think back to the Mansfield game as being the big turning point for that season, we still had wobbles (wtf was that Yeovil game all about!?) But this game really showed our spirit.

The playoff semi final second leg. We were an unstoppable force after that, and look at what happened to Notts... could so easily have been us.

I’ve seen it posted a lot about Notts County that it could have been us and I’m not sure I agree. Notts County were an overachieving long ball team and returned to the norm the season after. Even if we had lost in the play offs I think we would have gone up eventually like Portsmouth because of the level of player we could attract at that level

That Yeovil game really was odd. It just came completely out of nowhere. For me it was the Oxford game. Mainly because it displayed the power of the fanbase.

I think the Checkatrade galvanised the fans and club ( possibly the owners). Ref the on pitch success, would agree with Mansfield, I think Robins has also said the same.

Mansfield turned that season, no doubt. 14th min utter despair and as someone said, that freekick goal happened in slow motion. I had such a buzz after that game

That was indeed a crucial game for us
Seem to remember Steve Evans being very gracious after the game

This season I’d say the home victory v Blackpool thanks to a last ditch winner. Blackpool looked certain winners that day and were looking a strong outfit but that defeat seemed to knock the stuffing out of them and gave us momentum and although there were one or two little wobbles I think that victory from the jaws of defeat gave us all belief we could be serious challengers.

We were rubbish for 40 minutes that day - yet somehow went in level at half time

In terms of this season, its weird to pick a game so late into the season because we were obviously doing well already but the portsmouth home game was the one for me when it went from being play-off pack to THE team in the division to beat. Actually mad that we took 22 points from our last 24 before the season finished.
