No actually, saying they'd sold less would be cheap as they would be paying less VAT, tax, etc. If they were "full of shit" then they would be giving us a lower figure surely, not a higher one?

But, if you think it's all lies and conspiracy then good on you too.

ok, have it your way!

conspiracy, yeah the shit that comes out the club,i have fallen for it myself on many occasions over the years,so i don't blame you there, but this time i will wait n see. enjoy next season with the grand total of around 6000..crowd.. ghost town...all will come home to roost..

Dave, I agree with that. Shame that so few of us will witness the march to Promotion!

What an odd thing to say about the team you support. But yes, I will enjoy my Saturday afternoons with my Son and Dad. Thanks.

Weirdly, it almost seems like there are Cov fans that want the team to fail just to teach a lesson to those idiotic enough to buy tickets :thinking about:

I agree. So the original poster and certain others should direct their anger at SISU not fellow supporters.

The only people that fail this club are the shitty owners.

This sisu situation with lies,no money,no players, relegation, embargo's,fans turning on each other, has reached a totally rediculous level now.

I agree again! two posts in a row. One day we'll all look back on this and have a good old chuckle, I'm sure. :thinking about:

To be honest though, I'm not that bothered if we go out of business or not now that I've discovered Bubble Popper.

The club has sold of yesterday 4,055 season tickets, of which 300 were to those who did not have a season ticket last season.
With Financial Fair Play rules meaning that City need their fans more than ever, Ticketing manager Dan Walker told the CT: “That actually puts us slightly ahead of the same point last year, which we are obviously pleased about.
“With us playing our football in League One next year I think our fans understand that the more support we get from them, the better chance we have of getting back to the Championship and many fans that we speak to are really looking forward to the next campaign.
“As well as this we have also had an impressive return from fans that didn’t have a season ticket last time or have never had one before.

alot of this bickering and arguing could be helped by the owners submitting the books and getting some players in, but all we get is bad news then worse news you can see why so many fans are pissed off and saying to the owners you put your money and faith in the team and club and then we will do the same. i think relegation and all the shit storm going on around the club has made some fans think right thats it this where im going to draw a line and not invest in a season ticket!! i am not saying its the right or wrong thing to do but thats how i see it. A bit of good news will do wonders

Yep Sub, see where you're coming from. However I think the increase in season ticket sales is actually good news. Along with the statements that we are at least trying to persuade Cranie and Keogh to stay, even if we ultimately fail to do so.

Come on guys at the end of the day we are all Cov fans season ticket or no season ticket :D
I'm mad at Sisu for this because they are the ones that have put us in this situation fighting amongst ourselves.
And its all down to lack of communication from Sisu, they would be surprised what we would except if they would just come out and be honest. We might not like it but would except it. But no they keep telling us bull, so I am at the conlclusion that nothing will improve untill they are gone.

i agree torchy trying to get the players we want to stay is a good thing but i think deep down we know the answer of what will happen :(:( i hope they stay but after the king, gunnason and turner joke transfers i will not be holding my breath.

Let's harness these frustrations and aim them at those at the top not at each other. After all, we are all hurting, we are all TRUE City fans, season ticket or not. We need to find a way of getting our message across to the con men at the top of OUR club.

If SISU wanted our fans to fall out with each other they have done very well.

It is your right to by a ST now if you want.

It is your right to buy a ST when you know what kind of squad we will have at the start of the season.

It is your right to pay on the gate.

It is your right to only go to away games.

It is your decision not to go at all.

You are still a supporter whichever way you go to watch. You are a supporter still even if you can't go for any certain reason. I am like many and do shift work which involves working a lot of weekends. You might be retired. It is not easy these days. You might have lost your job and can't get another one or can only find low paid work. You might not even be able to work anymore. This don't suddenly mean you are not a supporter anymore. Don't get me started on this, but if you don't work and have never been interested in work you have never even supported yourself.

I can only make about 12 games a season on average. Not only do I work shifts, but I also live 4 1/2 hours away from Cov when the M6 is clearish. I prefer to do away games. I travel to Cov then get on a coach, even when I pass where we are playing to get to Cov. Each game costs me £250 or more. Going to a home game don't save me much other than the price of the coach. An away day is much more enjoyable. Nothing to do with SISU. It is a better laugh on the way, finding new pubs, taking the p!ss out of the natives and also having our fans all sat together.

I do not see myself being a better fan than others. I don't see myself being a worse fan than others. I do what I can. I was born and dragged up in Cov. So Cov is my team.

If you want to get your ST go and get one. Everyone else should STFU.

If you don't want to get a season ticket then don't. Everyone else should STFU.

I am no better than others. Why do you think you are if you do? Life is all about choices. It is not up to you to choose for others. We all support Cov in our own way. That don't give you a right to abuse others that don't do it the same way as you.

I was going to post a response to the original poster but i dont think i need to anymore as Astute has covered off what needed saying (as have others).

Im getting my season ticket, dont care what you do or if you think im stupid. The only people i can see making themselves look stupid are the people who think they can tell me how to spend my disposable income. My choice, my life, my money. I will do with it as i please. And what pleases me is spending a saturday afternoon with my son watching the team we both love. End of.

How can you be taking away money from SISU if you are giving them around £300 per ticket! That is staggering denial (and I am NOT talking about the river in Egypt!). So you don't think if the sales are low enough they won't extend the early bird deadline?

The lunatics truly have taken over the asylum!

Well when you pay full price with pay on the gate, I would say I've saved money. Therefore SISU get less money from me over the season... what part of that is not clear.

Indeed. In fact I think the way some on here talk they will be street parties if we enter liquidation.

I will go to every home game too and will pay on the day, that means i will be giving my club about £150 more than you. Does that make me a better supporter ?

Except it's unknown income and as such cannot be borrowed against or budgeted for really. So no. You're not :p

I cannot believe there are over 4000 people stupid enough to part with hard earned cash to the hedge fund! Not only that but they claim an additional 300 people who didn't have a season ticket before!

Even assuming these figures are true (which I doubt), isn't that down on 5,700 this time last year? (I assume someone know the figure)

4,000 people buy a season ticket when they are stripping down the squad before their eyes, have a transfer embargo in place, a management team who produce the most league defeats in the history of the club, and they haven't even signed off the accounts!

I seriously want to push these people my latest idea - cow socks (so they don't get their hooves dirty). With 4000+ suckers (I mean potential investors) I could make a fortune - patent pending of course!

Not gone through the whole thread so apologies I this has been posted.

This article http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/coventry-city-fc/coventry-city-fc-news/2011/05/18/coventry-city-season-ticket-sales-booming-due-to-sexy-football-92746-28714823/

From 18th May 2011 so a bit before this point says we'd sold 7000. So it's quite a drop.

I'm one of the stupid ones, thanks for that. But I have been supporting the team through thick and thin since 1971 and it isn't going to change now.

What about all the money I have spent in the past are you telling me that other owners, chairman etc haven't been lining their pockets, give me a break.

Either support the team or don't your choice, the passion the sky blues supporters have are not about signings money and all the other bullshit that football is about nowadays its about supporting the team in front of you on any given Saturday.

It's simple, pay on the day - then buy a season ticket when they leave.

They are taking us all for mugs and ripping our club apart while people shrug and go "oh well".

The arrogance in this thread is astounding. If you don't want to go then don't. My dad isn't. Fair enough but don't slag of people who do.

And Rich would that not give SISU more money?

Arrogance is a two way street ccfctommy. The same can be said of slagging off people who won't buy a ST.(Not true fans)
Yes..It would be more expensive buying "At the gate" but the safer way until financing of the team is sorted.
If SISU liquidate, what is the cheaper way then?;)

I don't think support should be unconditional. Sometimes you have to make a stand to effect a change.
SISU have to go & they can't be trusted, even if the club is harmed in the short term it will still be here once they've gone.

By not purchasing a season ticket I hope that day will come sooner.

I'm such a fucking idiotic moron that i'm of the 300 or so who didn't have a season ticket last year but has now decided to purchase one, I've had season tickets on and off for the last twenty years, just decided that with all the crap going on off the pitch it is my duty to support whoever pulls on a sky blue jersey next season. I can have a few beers and a bit of banter with some old mates. I might even witness some winning football, which would be nice.

Alternatively I could go to work, go shopping, do DIY, wash the car, walk the dog, etc.

Sorry if my actions offend people but I use the football to escape the mundane duties of normal family life for just a few hours regardless of the off pitch politics.

Your actions don't offend me in the slightest mate...It's what you want to do that counts.;)
It's being told that I'm "Not a true supporter" that pisses me off.
I choose not to give SISU my money. My choice.
