First post on here, long time lurker, have to say this thread is pretty grim in places, shades of the Facebook forum in fact.

Live in Newcastle upon Tyne, was at the protest today where people decided to turn up to "defend" Grey's Monument - his government abolished slavery so the statue clearly didn't need defending (an anti racism network up here said as much beforehand).

I can assure you, the people there "defending" the monument were massive racists.
