Just checked the sentencing guidelines to see if the judge had decided to make an example of him by giving the maximum sentence. Seems the maximum sentence is, rather shockingly, life imprisonment!

Fucking hell. I was bored at work so decided to procrastinate and read this thread. Well, what a mistake, I'm raging on behalf of Hill and also about 2 hours behind on work. Many a bellend, but thank christ that prick was banned. Absolutely disgraceful and, Hill, not sure how you managed to keep it together quite as well as you did. You should never have had to put up with that, but especially not in 2020.

I can’t say I’m surprised. Not because I think he deserves a jail sentence (personally I think a fine would have been more than reasonable) but because the government has looked weak on racism so want a headline. A headline rather than action. Action along the lines David Lammy is talking about here.

Funny how people like lineker were all over a video of city fans chasing those lads but no mention if theres a gang of blm protestors (I say protestors, just trouble makers kicking off using a different excuse) kicking fuck out of somebody.
I think a lot of people are trying too hard to show they are pc but they are going to end up doing more harm. That's media, celebrities, influencers. The message is being lost. Just the same as when people were showing they loved the NHS more.

If it was in the real world the other day when coventrian was being a c**t I'd have stood watch and warned you if people were coming. Somebody gave that city fan a slap who made that video, blind eye turned.
There has to be balance though, this is more a media issue who seem intent on stirring things.
It's a bit different having 15-20 blokes jumping on one person though. I'm not saying he isn't racist, it's more than likely he was but it doesn't excuse a pack jumping in like that.

Compare this to the headlines when it was about city fans.
"Innocent white man brutally beaten group of by thugs" would be the equivalent. is lineker saying it's disgusting?
It just shows people nowadays, everybody wants to film it. Compare that to the guy who waded in to help.
I've also seen one of a scrawny white lad kick off with a man mountain and get knocked out. It wasn't a pack, it wasn't a big group stamping on heads.

The bloke who pissed against the monument deserves jailing if he was there to be a racist prick, but not for urinating.
He's had some pop, needed to go and found a corner.
We must have all done that at some point and if he was doing because of what it was he'd have peed on the plate, not at the side of it. Still most likely he's a c**t, but jailing him for that is wrong imo.

TBH he probably hadn't even seen the memorial. Jail I thought was very harsh - fine would've done. If he got jailed for that gonna be a lot of new inmates from the past week or so.
