There are plenty of people stirring up racial tension who don't get sacked.

Half of the journalists are employed to just do that now it seems.

Half of all journalists seems......a bit hysterical to me. But am I even allowed to discuss the media with you?

For someone who claims to be desperate to find a solution to racial inequality, you do seem to spend a lot of time deflecting, defending and diverting. Why is that?

I'm not deflecting or diverting anything.

There are plenty of people who want to stir up racial tension but are in a job still. Some journalists, some not.

Is that not allowed to be pointed out?

Of course you're allowed, but it seems like a weird hill to die on. You've got an obsession with every last troll and perceived slight in the media that most people are capable of ignoring (well, apart from me, apparently). You go to great pains to say you want to find a solution, yet here you are standing up for a guy who hired a plane to try and make things worse. As I said earlier, if you actually mean it about wanting to make things better, then you need to get out of your safe space.

Charming couple, aren't they.

I'm not on about just random troll accounts.

Again, it isn't standing up for him to point out there are others in positions who haven't lost their jobs for stirring up racial tension. Yeah it turns out the guy is a c**t, wants to be mates with Tommy Robinson. I am just pointing out there needs to be consistency.

Go extreme "right" with your comments and you lose your job, go extreme "left" and you get a slot on a morning TV show to keep pushing views.

This is part of the issue, it's almost as if some things can't be mentioned. Do people want discussions or is it a case of "shut up and listen and what is said, goes"?

To be honest, when you start a sentence with that you can usually predict things. The man at his local Indian Takeaway and the delivery driver from the Chinese Takeaway aren't mates.

I don't get what drives people to post shit like that online, is it for some sort of recognition from fellow cunts? Who in their right mind types stuff like that out and thinks "my friends on social media are going to love this".

Discussions are fine, but you can easily block progress by chasing after every tangent and strawman argument. There's never a shortage of them, it's often a lot easier to spend your energy on bad faith arguments and whatabout-ism. Plenty of people fall for it, some people even enjoy it. Others try to block out the noise and focus on making things better instead. Your choice!

Exactly what I've been saying all along mate and get accused of defending the hard right. The far right are outcasts, no one takes them seriously and rightly so. The far left have so much freedom to spout their bullshit. Twats like Ash 'literal communist' Sarkar get stuck on Channel 4 on election night. Although it was worth it just to see hers and Owen Jones' faces when the results came in.

There's the asian girl who loves a bit of baiting on social media. The one who made the video saying the white population of London is down but the Minority is double and "we are winning". She seems to get a slot on ITV as an expert because of it.

Now imagine if a white bloke made the same comments that if the number of black people / muslims etc was going down and white people going up and said "We are winning".

As for stirring up racial tension, not so much extreme left but you only need to chuck ITV on in the morning. That interview with Dizzee Rascal was embarrassing.

There needs to be a balance.

The guy with the plane has turned out to be an actual c**t, he is one of the obvious ones that are blatant and thick. There are plenty who are clever and manipulative while they do it.

Can't agree Tom.
The far right aren't outcasts they're growing and growing. Look at the increase in terror threat hilighted this week, the second biggest threat after Islamists.
And the likes of Darren Grimes are given a platform on national TV and radio.
Farage has been on QT more this century than anyone and he's not an elected MP.

I've seen Farage on GMB during the pandemic as well.
And are you suggesting Morgan was given his slot because he's far left because he was very much a Tory Trump supporter when he started that role whatever views he's aired since March when this started turning in to a shit show

I'm not blocking anything.

"Whataboutism" is one of those new words like "Gammon". It's where people want to be angry about somebody who doesn't suit their political view doing something but then not be bothered about somebody who does match their political view doing something.

"X and Y is disgusting"
"Yes, it is wrong. What do you think about your mate also doing X and Y?"
"Whataboutery"

Nah, Morgan was already on there. I am just saying that he does his best to stir up racial tension. His aim is viewer ratings rather than a handshake from Tommy Robinson like the thick twat with the plane or the prick who made the video in broadgate.

But this is why people question people's motives.
They accuse people like Morgan of stirring racial tension but give the far right a pass.
Look at Tom's comments, the far right are outcasts.
They really aren't there a menace.
I'm not sure which branch of the authorities released figures on the far right threat in the last couple of weeks but they said there was a 6 or 7 percent increase in foiled attacks yet people bang on about Ash Sakar!

I am staying out of this in the main but the one thing I do find bewildering is the view that the BLM campaign is not predominantly in the uk a front for Marxism and “real” socialism

They are outcasts in society even if they are growing slightly. As you've seen, out yourself as a member of the far right you get fired and tbf I can kinda see why, although I respect you for not being comfortable with that, I'm not either. The comments he made that Otis put up are far more of a sackable offence than the plane so maybe he got what he deserved anyway.
But on the other hand you have this Cambridge professor who's been backed by her employers for her anti white tweets (Google it if you haven't seen it.) This kind of thing does nothing but stoke the flames of division and is doing the far rights recruitment for them.

I’m sorry Nick but this is nonsense - the extreme left have media slots? Wasn’t it Farage and Hopkins that have had the prime time radio slots? Did I miss the communism show on BBC?

I'm not giving the far right a pass. It isn't one or the other, multiple people can be cunts.

I don't think Tom was giving the far right a pass, it read to me that they weren't taken seriously and cast out and rightly so. The same as when that city fan made that video, everybody I have seen called him out.

This is the issue when everything is about politics, you don't have to be one or the other. You can want balance where people who are extreme and "far" either way are called out and treated the same.

Farage and Hopkins are horrible cunts. It doesn't mean people who sway the other "way" can't be horrible cunts.

Hopkins made a career out of being a c**t, she is in the same bracket as Piers Morgan. All about the reaction.

They are calculated as opposed to the braindead knuckledraggers.

Katie Hopkins was sacked due to a tweet.
Nigel Farage made a comment about BLM and was sacked too.

(This isn't me defending either of them to point this out)

When you have women of different races making comments the other way, it's seen as powerful. No, they are just cunts on the other side of the "argument".

No it’s not about whataboutery - you said extreme left people have media slots - it’s simply not true. 2 of the most outspokenly racist and right wing ‘personalities’ in the UK over the last 5 years have had their own radio shows to promote their agenda. The fact that some ‘leftie’ commentators have shown up on the Paper Review or Daily Politics isn’t remotely comparable. There is generally always a ‘rightie’ commentator on these panels for balance.

To be fair, the Overton window in this country has steadily gone to the right, so what is seen as ‘hard left’ now may not have been 10/20/30 years ago. Literal communists mind you are as far left as they come. Maybe agree to disagree but I think in general you have to do much more to be seen as ‘far right’ than ‘far left’.

My point was about how people should lose their jobs and the balance.

Farage and Hopkins sum it up as well on the other side but have also lost their jobs.

Be a braindead thick, knuckledragging c**t and be openly racist and get fired. Be sly, calculating and manipulative and use that to stir things up and you don't.

Looking at the news today there's an asian lecturer who has made some comments that Twitter have removed and her employers have said it's free speech.

Yeah, but I mean in the mainstream of opinion, which is what that window refers to, he isn’t regarded as far right. Farage and JRM might have been before, but also are not. Granted I am a Labour voter but the threshold to be called ‘hard left’ in the mainstream seems to be lower. Proposing literal communism I agree is, proposing more social democratic policies is not.

Not sure she’s expressing a left wing opinion at all their let alone an extreme one. Don’t see any of the left wing parties expressing her opinions as policy. Not having a go but it’s where we seem to be as a country that anything that isn’t far right or leaning towards far right is leftie, Communist, Marxist lunacy.
