Either David has smuggled his mothers costcutter special value cider into his room while she’s on her online bingo or someone has actually created a parody account of Gerry Adams favourite love child

I may be wrong, but I don't think this is really the shit black people are bothered about. Think they're more worried about being victims of brutality and prejudice but I'm prepared to be contradicted.
I think it's one of the several things that appears innocuous but suddenly has a appropriate time to be discussed. Hank Azaria stepping down as Apu took me by surprise as while it was blatantly a stereotype it was never played with malice so I assumed it was all fine, but the documentary a few years ago tells a different story from one of the voices represented so I think it's good that people seem increasingly likely to listen. Every little step and all that

Yeah, I think that's a bit far. It's not like he's physically blacking up.

A black person doing the voice of a white person isn't offensive.

I do find it ironic though that The Simpsons will cast non-white characters with non-white voice actors, yet the "white" characters are yellow.

Talking in averages I think this is true, but there are women who don’t fit that stereotype, there’s a lot of overlap in Male and female brains, and those women who do want to enter typically Male professions do face barriers that need addressing.

I agree, there are plenty who don't fit into the girly girl stereotype, my niece being one, would rather kick a football around or climb something then have the barbies out. What are the answers to getting more people involved in careers that generally don't fit with their gender? I think men face the same prejudice though, in that if they want to work with children, they're viewed as having an ulterior motive. I think the country is lacking in good engineers anyway, you should see some of the clowns who work at our place.

Every character on the show is a stereotype, thick, fat, bald, middle aged man, house wife always trying to do the correct moral thing, the hell raiser child with a nerdy loner sister, the boring christian next door, lazy fat comic store owner, penny pinching old guy etc etc.

IMO things like this take away the credibility of the BLM movement, they're such non issues imo.

Not sure if this has been posted, but Mike Henry who voices Cleveland in Family Guy, is stepping down from the role. He tweeted saying people of colour should play characters of colour.

Going from his tweet, he will still voice Consuela, who is a Hispanic maid....

Also, The Simpsons will only cast non-White voice actors for non-White characters...
Is it me or are people going a bit overboard I mean its a cartoon character and you see the puppet on screen not the bloke behind the microphone. You have actors putting on accents be it black, white, scouse, cockney, Russian sounding. The voice of Bart is done by a woman, its called acting ffs. Are people really offended by this, if so I apologise I just don't get this one at all.

You’re part of the problem to be fair so not worth wasting any time over. I actually fee sorry for people like you. Must be hard to be so insecure.
Not at all.
So because I disagree with you that makes me insecure.
Because I'm part of the problem you think it's not worth wasting time on, when actually most would suggest the problem is what it's all about.
I think you should read a book.

Would guess it was prompted by the shitstorm on twitter earlier today where anyone speaking against the Israeli governments imminent annexing of the West Bank was being labelled anti-semitic.

Explainer: Israel, annexation and the West Bank
Israel's cabinet meets to finalise annexation plans

Edit: should have read the whole thread first, see others have beaten me to it!

It's as if it's a political party, don't get why they would start on that sort of stuff?

Not going to try to understand the Israel stuff but it's getting away from the point massively.

It isn't going to help the cause.

Nothing wrong at all with speaking out against Israel's illegally plans to annex the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

People can show solidarity to other oppressed people.

the Palestinian national council expressed solidarity with the BLM cause a couple of weeks ago so it's just a bit of mutual back scratching.
No doubt it will get more focus than the fact that Israel have broken international law for the umpteenth time.
Their comments about Nandys statement should also be a wake up call to Starmer, you cannot appease Zionists, they will just keep on pushing for more and more.

It's politics, it's not just what people keep saying it is.

I keep telling you Nick, everything is politics.
Is it strategically sensible to get entwined in goings on in Palestine, probably not but you've proved my point by returning to this and not mentioning Israel breaking international law again.

Which was my point, it's not just "black people should be equal" which is what any normal person agrees with.

That are doing it for politics. You would think the coverage will dry up.

any movement like this is political Nick. I'm not sure why you can't grasp that.
Should they be extending their reach into Palestinian affairs, I'm not sure they should myself. But either way - it's political!

I can grasp it which is why I've been asking questions rather than shut up and agreeing like said by some.

A bit random to have a political group on Football shirts though? Maybe the focus should have just been on the existing kick it out.
