ATs got his badges (6 Viewers)

....so surely now we'll see some improvement in his tactical and motivational skills...????

He's bulletproof.

The question I ask is where does his role & responsibility start/finish?

If some are to be believed, and AT cannot be blamed, as his hands are tied (and to an extent that is right), then why have a manager at all....do away with him and save some money.

It's not his fault when it goes wrong and circumstances supersede anything his does, so why have him???

Badges just mean he's been on a course for a couple of weeks little bit on the training ground and a little bit in a classroom don't think it will actualy help him to motivate or learn anymore tactics.I think you are either a good manager or an average one.

should help him find a managers job when he sees 90% of the squad has been sold and relises his budget is fuck all, and all this after his chat with fisher about his war chest to bounce back :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Its a big summer for Thorn, as soon as the Embargo is lifted (it will be lifted) he has to get a side together, If the season starts slowly or not to plan Carso will be manager IMO he already has all his badges unlike Thorn who will just have completed his UEFA A.

I would say thats having carso in the first team staff is a massive plus for next season.

so his got his badges,he'll need more than badges to sort this mess out.his course report..
must try harder.;)

If it pans out as we expect, i.e fuck all in, anyone worth anything out, then AT will made to look a bigger tit than he did in post-match interviews after his comments about 'making a list', 'I've been made promises' etc...

Regardless of the backing could ANYONE have won more than 9 games from 48 last season with the players he had...if so, then what is still doing here???

He's got 10 games in my view next season....I can see him taking him down again and feeding us the same bollocks again next April.

all this after his chat with fisher about his war chest to bounce back :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

If he believed that, when 15000 fans could see it was bullshit, then he's a bigger idiot than he looks/comes across....:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

He and fisher are the same. Sisu spin doctors. The difference is most of the gullible think he cares and is one of us. Really he is VERY much one of them. Thorn is sisu's prize asset.

Statistically the worst manager in our history....FACT.

Amazing that, as according to some, he plays 'good attractive football'. I always thought 'good, attractive football' also led to winning a few games, and not a win record hovering around 20%....

His football is crap. The only coaching badges he needs is to learn to drive the team bus.

He's certainly got us on a mystery tour this season...we can see some of his 'good, attractive football' in some of the shitty outposts off English football.

Let's see how his 'diamond' goes down in this league....we need to compete, not ponce about with some tactic he read in 'Shoot'.

It surprises me he can read. Honestly he is the worst in my 40 years utterly clueless.

Day one of the coaching course is how to get that extra 10%, day two is cliches. So when we lose to Blyth Spartans and hear that the lads at the end of the day gave it 110% and the effort couldn't be faulted to be fair over the moon, NOBODY can question the credentials.

I just can't believe that anyone can believe that these two clowns can achieve anything after what we saw last season.

If he gets no money - which is what will happen - how does anyone expect him to get us to challenge? The evidence is that in the last 6 games - which were make or break and against perceived weaker opponents - we won fook all, the team seemed to lack motivation and the tactics (as witnessed at Bristol) were simply shocking, naive in the extreme.

I hope Coleman's Nuts & bolts makes an appearance

Edit: that sounds very wrong, but i'll run with it.

Agreed sylus, we should be getting in a motivator who can do something with what he has got....if Thorn wants backing, he seems to think we are a Premier club with wonga to spend....he knew how fooked we were when he took the job.

Thorn should focus on what he can affect...coach the players to compete in this league...it's not as though he has been given pub players, these are professional footballers aren't they? Most brought here by Teflon Andy himself....:thinking about:

Apparently he was with a good bunch of lads, and lead the session on 'total football'....the rest of the group had never heard of the 'diamond'....so he showed him the cut out from 'Shoot' where he read it...

you see thats what worries me, our squad next season,if we are stuck with sisu, will be youth, loans and freebie's,now where is that goin to get us.even with the best coaches for the league of course would struggle wouldn't they.now im not defending thorn here, more that everything has been taken away from him.

There is a serious element to this. A lot of fans will never apportion blame to him. If we are bottom by Christmas it will be "poor AT, loveley guy, we are so sorry for him". Clueless tactically, hopeless motivator, a walking and talking embarrassment in front of the media. Still though some clown will say its the best football we have played in 10 years, no manager on the world could get more out of this team. Truth is want thorn deserve nothing but defeat after defeat.

I agree, Sylus, but has what he has achieved with these players acceptable?

In my opinion, no.

If anyone else could have won more than 9 games in 48 then Teflon should have gone...in fact, even in a season when a team was deducted 10 points, we failed miserably...

Played some great stuff though.

The problem is perpetuated here when you have people outlandishly claiming that Mourinho/Ferguson/etc couldn't do any better than Thorn did, as if the myriad points and leads dropped couldn't have been avoided at any point. I mean, I get that Thorn was and is hamstrung a lot by people above him, but he's far from blameless.
