They'll be taken over - again - and Appleton will bring in a three-pronged attack of Owen, Heskey and Vassell, in front of a midfield including Hargeaves, Del Piero and Joe Cole with a defence featuring Cuellar and Craig Gordon. They'll run out of money by October, struggle on until to just past the transfer window on a wing and a prayer, play the system while Appleton moans he can only bring in experienced Championship-level players on loan, get promoted and go bust - only to be saved by another CVA and the league forwarding them next season's money. Just a prediction like.

I can see it happening. And the fans will lap it up yet again. A CVA on a CVA is ridiculous. They should only accept offers from someone who can clear all existing debts so that creditors are safe guarded.

Bear in mind, Pompey are still due £24 million in PL parachute payments-Appy could probably get that figure trebled and delivered all at once for his assault on the quadruple.

Pompey to avoid points deduction by football league

POMPEY will not be docked any points next season for remaining in administration.

The football club’s administrator, Trevor Birch of PKF, has been discussing the issue with the Football League ahead of its annual summer conference meeting this week.
There were fears that if Pompey were not able to get out of administration by the time the meeting was held, the Football League could decide to dock as many as 17 points from Pompey next season.
But while the Football League is publicly staying silent on the issue, Mr Birch and his team have been told that they will begin their season in League One without any deductions.
The summer conference, which will take place from Thursday morning to Friday lunchtime, officially marks the end of the old season and the beginning of the new

There are fears that without a successful takeover bid, the club will run out of money entirely before the end of May.
If no buyer is accepted and the cash runs out, the administrators would have no option other than to liquidate the club and sell of its assets to the highest bidders.

I only hope our Reps at CCFC have been sucking up to the League, just like Portsmouth have?

Nah, we can't afford bribes. Well we can, but we are saving it for buying half the arena

Fair play to them.

There are plenty of snivelling worms on here without any backbone looking for sympathy.

How is Thorn's threat to resign coming along? Has anything changed at the club?

"Thorns going nowehere and Appleton thinks he can sign 20 players and it will be fine"

That statement could ring true for pretty much every day for the past year or so

Portsmouth administrators have accepted Balram Chanrai's bid to re-take control. CVA is offering 2p in the pound. Anyone know how that works for those still being paid back from the previous CVA when they had to take a similar deal? Do they take 2p in the pound from the reduced amount being paid under the previous CVA or from the full debt amount?

Thorn will walk away if he doesn't get his way this time - he said so.

My understanding is that those who were owed from the first CVA will now get 2p for every pound they were expecting to pay from the first CVA. So essentially they will get less than 0.5p in the pound. Disgraceful if they are allowed to get away with this, it's going back to one of the former owners who let them get in this mess as well.

Have to say if it was me being offered that on an already deflated payment I think I'd reject it out of principle. I'm not for sending clubs to the wall but that is ridiculous.

Can't believe a thread about bloody Portsmouth is still going and has now reached 53 pages!

when you read more about the offer it's unbelievable,
The offer from Portpin is conditional on creditors voting in favour of the CVA and certain players agreeing to compromise their future contractual entitlements
and part of the offer is conditional on promotion to the premiership within 5 years!!!

OSB, £19 million is owed to Balram Chainrai, who wants to buy the club purely to safeguard this money. They also owe cash to Gaydamak (in the millions), unpaid tax (in the millions), and the rest is owed to local businesses and even schools (hundreds of thousands to them).
