Wasps Statement (7 Viewers)

Is a little bit funny to imagine the council selling Wasps on this idea that they'd be able to waltz in, own the stadium and rinse us on matchdays for as long as they liked all without telling them what a bunch of difficult bastards SISU are to deal with. Bet Wasps had no idea what they were getting themselves in for before they bought the arena.

It's actually got to the point where I think wasps and the council are trying to starve sisu out rather than the other way around... The club are just collateral damage that they think they can repair after sisu have gone.
The people of Coventry really should be pushing back on these wankers and the council

Again, it is very relevant that Wasps were involved with Hoffman and the council have previous.

There was no legal action, so they could be playing with words & being sneaky, but this reeks more of desperation to get something out before everyone starts slagging them off. They seem to be well aware that their ‘commercially attractive’ terms were also not so good for us.

If it wasn’t us involved it would be mildly entertaining to see who is bullshitting, because someone is telling a blatant lie about the indemnity.

The relationship is beyond the point of repair the council are rats & I feel have a hold Over wasps with something wasps are losing silly money & nobody will touch them to sponsor the ground I just can’t see how they keep losing that money & still be here 3-5 more years max, problem is the council we have a council full of clowns with no loyalty For the club or backbone Their cowards they would happily lose the club to beat SISU...until we get a new council in I feel we will always struggle hence why we have probably fucked them off and gone to Warwick council over the uni...

“SISU batter people in court” - Tim Fisher,ok now is the time fucking show us if this EU comes back take them to the cleaners get this stadium built and show us your actually gonna pull this off else pack your bags and fuck off knowing you failed and were full of shit.

Said the same earlier;

Are Wasps twisting words here in their statement,
"We did not require the football club or its owners to sign any indemnity around legal action over the Ricoh Arena"
As we know, EU is not legal action.
So technically their statement could be correct... designed to whip up some frothing,
Whilst there IS a request to indemnify against EU complaint....???

so Wasps losing maybe
£1m per year stadium naming
£1m per year off CCFC
Loss in attractiveness of associated businesses eg Casino/Hotels etc
Bonds approaching junk and need repaying in 2 years

Whoever is telling the truth
Wasps are in a very precarious position

With this in mind, it would appear something very, very dodgy is afoot here. Especially factoring in the pressure applied by CCC when the idea of a project of CRFC was floated.

All parties know that the RICOH is the only viable stadium in Coventry. It does seem the CCC and Wasps want to keep the club in a state of indentured servitude to the RICOH.

Seems to be no chance of a deal so might as well be gloves off and lets get it all out there.
If we’re serious about building then fuck yeah it’s all out attack on everyone

You want us all behind you SISU then get to war with these people build the stadium & you will have us in full support

Problem with this strategy is that stadiums don't get built over night. Even if the stadium plans do come to fruition and all is rosey we're still looking at 4-5 years playing outside of Cov in front of tiny crowds, paying a ton in rent to Blues or whoever else will have us. Might end up meaning we have to settle for being a Champ-League One yo-yo club or worse.

I’ll take that for now mate if it means we stand on our own 2 feet in 5 years time what’s the alternative ?

7 years and counting. not sure whats changed ?

The club has a ‘partner’ to work with on the project that is outside CCC jurisdiction. For the first time in those 7 years, there’s actually an opportunity to press on with their aspiration of building this new stadium.

I do doubt that without the good will of the CCC, a stadium project would be approved in their jurisdiction.

@WestEndAgro first floated this partnership with UoW about six years ago. Perhaps negotiations have genuinely taken this long.

wasp are losing £10m a year with CCFC possibly playing outside the City for the foreseeable future, these substantial losses just cant carry on and can see the only way out for wasp is to fall into liquidation.
