Where has anyone said this?

Numerous posts that i cant be arsed to trawl through, but people saying along the lines of Pask being quality, good enough for championship, will replace Mcfadz, ahead of drysdale etc.

Seen it over the course of a month or so. Think the original appraisal came from @better days if he can confirm?

As i say, he may well be but i cannot fathom how its come about why people think someone we hardly saw in league 1 and hasnt played properly for years is going to cut it in the championship

Why do you think he won’t? Because he was injured for half of last season?

Hes Done reasonably well, has good pedigree and is young. He’s also clearly our fourth choice CB and was ahead of Drysdale all last season.

I like him, Id like to see what he can do. Though I don’t think he’ll replace McFadz even though I do think we need someone to.

I actually think he looks good from the little I've seen of him. Impossible to tell yet as nobody was dislodging that back 3 last season

You've no idea if he's got glass legs

I'd feel more comfortable with him covering CB than drysdale tbh... But I haven't seen too many posts raving about him

Few people, including me, have said he has a lot of potential and we can see him featuring more next season. Doesn’t mean he will live up to it. It’s just opinion. It’s based on him coming from a good academy and looking very good in the Brum game. He also has pace which is something our other CB don’t have in abundance and could be a limiting factor in the championship. As we play 3 at the back there will undoubtedly be times when Pask/Drysdale/Dacosta/Morgan have to step in. No reason to assume Pask isn’t first in that list and as other said he seemed to be 4th choice last season.

If it makes you feel any better Drysdale has arguably been better pre-season but we haven’t seen a lot of him either.

If you’re not basing it on pre-season (and why the hell would you?) then he’s got pedigree, looks athletic and has done well in his very few games he’s played for us.

I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone saying he’s a world beater but logically he has a chance of being an established first teamer. Doubt he originally signed for the bench and/or development squad.

To be fair I’m not quite sure what you’re getting at with the post.!?

I actually raised a similar point to the OP the other day.

I know he certainly has a lot of potential but I was also hearing a lot of hype based on not a lot. People putting him in their starting XI might have done it. Either way, I hope he does come good. Don't like to put too much pressure on though.

Have i missed something? Why does everyone act like he's the second coming of Beckenbauer? Glass legs and hardly played.

Genuinely have no idea where this has came from so if someone can set me straight please 👌

Your right I’d def seen similar posts and got same vibe. Def a case of being a deemed a better player by not playing

He looked out of his comfort zone at right back in the last friendly, but hopefully he can do a job at centre half if required.

Give him a chance
His longest spell out was through a debilitating illness, scarlet fever from memory which scuppered an early loan to a L2 club when he was at West Ham
After recovering from that he went to Gillingham and did well before going back to the Hammers at the end of that season
In the meantime Reece Oxford then Declan Rice moved ahead of him and West Ham let him go
Plenty of clubs were in for him but he chose us
He broke his ankle in training preseason soon after joining us and was just coming back as last season was curtailed
I've seen him play many times and still think he will become a top player
The problem at the moment is inconsistency
We haven't seen enough of him yet especially in his best position
He's not a wing back

Don't give up on him yet, he has had a few set backs. But a big season for him coming up no doubt.

He could potentially be like a new signing for us, jf we haven't seen the best of him yet?

Managing to acore a goal in an unnatural position, and a goal like THAT certainly says something

I get saddlebrains point, how can you claim he has good pedigree when he hasn’t played much in the last couple of years cause was injured/illness at WHU and then us and he’s 22 now with not a lot of minutes in last couple of years

Probably on the basis of one of the best youth setups in the world stating he was their most promising youngster not too long ago and that he is coming back from injury

As with most things the reality lies somewhere in the middle. If he was as highly rated at West Ham as some on here think they would have persevered with him, and definitely not released him on a free transfer. However, he plainly does have promise, and if he can stay injury free for a prolonged period, we might get to see how good he can actually be.

Worryingly he went to Gillingham on a season long loan and only made 10 appearances.

Apparently he can also play as a holding midfielder, might be worth giving him a try there, as he doesn't look comfortable at RWB.

Tall, quick, leggy. Could well be our future cb. We are blessed in that position with hyam, fadz, Rose, and then pask, Dec 'ramos' drysdale and Williams. Thompson hasn't disgraced himself either

Giddings was my fav cov player that year based on FM rep alone.

Giddings was never quite as good as the hype surrounding him at the time but he was knackered by a bad injury which didn't help. Do't mind listening to him on the radio when he's on though.

When I was a young lad I used to write letters to various footballers to try and get back signed pictures, was a bit of a hobby of mine and Giddings sent me a parcel with his England U19 shirt that he wore in the game he played and signed it and sent it me, he was the only person that ever sent me something more than a signed photo so I will always have a lot of respect for him, was a beautiful gesture to a young fan

Don't think he enjoys playing wing back but like any pro will play where he's asked
Wouldn't be surprised to see him play as defensive central midfielder
Matty Godden says he gets stuck in & he has pace to get up and down the pitch

So he could be back up for the back three and the two playing in front of them. Depends on what happens with the Sheaf (or equivalent) deal.

Tom Leach released the starting line up as voted for by fans for the start of the season. Pask and Drysdale both made the starting XI.

Am I missing something, or is that just a bit bat shit crazy? What is that based on?
