Conditions likely to disrupt style of play. Burton have a new manager and by all accounts kicked Stoke about a bit at Stoke's ground at the weekend. Jon Joe O'Toole (dirty git) at the forefront. Hope we don't risk too many of our key players in the circumstances. Perhaps give the Williams (x2), Eccles, Bapagas of the squad time on the pitch. Save the main guys for Saturday v Posh, when the weather is due to be better. Probably me being twitchy pre-season, but don't want the likes of O'Hare, Allen and co at risk of cheap shots on a wet pitch from the likes of O'Toole and co. Clough's sides always tried to play decent football, but suspect there may have been a different approach from the new guy.

Our history of ACL's and a heavy pitch - not a good combo. Trouble is high winds are exactly going to be conducive to lumping it either. Think we may not learn a lot tonight. Would say it's more match fitness but we really do need to be using games at this stage to work on the technical side as well.

Weren’t people saying Jones was injured and out for weeks a few days ago? On the bench tonight, can’t imagine Robins taking a risk with him.

Biamou on the bench as well so not bomb squad or on his way it would seem.

Still no Kelly but he was in the training video so hopefully just a case of not quite ready. Bench is very weak

Tom Leach giving decent updates on the CET (spit) site. Thought Tommo was joking about Hillsner, but sounds like he's done something in the warm up. Let's hope it's not serious.
