For me its Jodi, Drysdale and Burroughs to be one of the ones that come from nowhere and stake a claim.

Who else do we reckon?

I agree all the way, I think Burroughs will get in if we switch up formations drysdale if injuries and Jones last season was being converted to a attacking cm in the u23s, so there will be a good fight between him ohare and Allen.

Not sure we'll see a wildcard as such - less need to risk untried youngsters with the squad we've built, and it's harder to risk in the Championship than, say, L1 or L2 as there's more to lose financially. I do, however, think we'll see some players step up to the level and some struggle.

And this mentality is why Chelsea are loaning 40 odd players out each season, we should try youngsters especially if the manager sees something in them.

Not Pask that’s for certain, I haven’t seen him play much. Just judging by the people on here constantly writing him off 😡😡

Still relatively young and feel he has to put in a shift this year or he'll be moved on.
Think playing against better opposition might spur him on a bit as well.

I’d like Jones to have a really big season, it’ll be a heart warming story that he’s recovered from two, back-to-back ACLs, and come back to perform well in the Championship.

More realistically, Gooden is a bit of a wildcard and think he could score quite a lot of goals in this league.

Completely agree on this. So many on here seem desperate for us to sign expensive, 'Championship experienced' players, rather than try out our own young players. Those 'experienced' players will likely be past their peak, while we do not know how far our young players can and will go. Everyone seems scared to blood these players, instead wanting them to go down the leagues on loan. I'm just imagining if we had the likes of Thomas, Gillespie, Blair, Thompson, Hateley and all the others in our youth team now, nobody would want to risk playing them.

I just don’t see it. Already today he’s gone down to 3rd choice andf I had him and max on the bench, I know which one I’d bring on

You’re right. Today, Walker and Gooden are our top two choices this year.

Baka looks like he’s got a bit more about him this preseason. It’s also probably his last year to prove himself to be worthy of a new contract. I’d like for him to out and perform really well this year.
