Championship Potential (5 Viewers)

I think the OP used the term 'potential'. Given the young age of our team it has to be feasible that the likes of Marosi, Dabo, Hyam, Rose, McCallum, Westbrooke and Shipley could step up if their careers were to carry on with upward progression. O'Hara can also do that, but he isn't our player.
Wasn’t that being said when we won the play-off to get into division one, we did okay last season just missing out on top six slot and doing better this season.

Luton who romped our league are losing 7-0 today and are 22nd. Barnsley who finished second are winning, first time since the opening day, but 5 points adrift the drop still. Charlton started well but have 2 wins in 12 games and are only heading one way currently.

Also you have to factor in we jumped into L1 as one of the biggest clubs crowd wise. In Championship we would be bottom 3.

I agree, I think we would struggle big style with our current squad. Obviously, I would like us to be promoted, but it would be a massive task for us to survive.

Indeed. I guess it’s a case of get there first and then cross that bridge when we come to it.

For years we've only had a couple players in the side with the potential to play at a higher level. I was thinking who out of the current 11-15 has the potential to play in the Championship
Marosi. Possible
Dabo. Yes
Rose. Yes
Hyam. Yes
Fadz. No
Mason. Yes
Mccallum. Yes
Kelly. Yes
Westbrooke. Yes
Shipley. Yes
Allen. Yes
Hiwula No
Godden No
Baka No
Max Yes.

Long and boring story short is - we are packed with talented young players with bags of potential. If we do go up this year - or next - we'll just need to add to our foward line! I don't think we'd be far off competing in the Championship if we did!
I was a bit off with Godden and Fadz

I was reading one write up cant remember where from
The view was that although some teams would be too good for us to match, there would be enough opportunities for us to impose our game, to gain enough points to survive

Sounds a reasonable assessment to me

Actually scrap that we do know. All of them have more than the potential to play in the Championship. They actually will be playing in the Championship.

You arguing with yourself again. 😊

I seem to be in a small minority (of one - at least amongst friends and family) who think Godden can and will step up.

Appreciate he is a fair bit slower than the level might demand but his movement, first touch and finishing are top class. I think he starts ahead of Walker.

People saying Mason maybe. He has actually played twice in the premiership.

Does feel like a make or break year for him.
