Rising Coventry City star Jonny Ngandu has joined Icelandic club Keflavík on loan, according to reports.

The 18-year-old winger/attacking midfielder has missed a chunk of the Sky Blues pre-season through illness but returned to action on Tuesday this week when he marked his come-back with a goal in the 3-1 win against Southampton Under-23s.

And Fotbolti.net claim the teenager has hooked up with Keflavík who are currently in "a hard fight to get out of the Lengjudeild,” albeit the team is currently in second place with 24 points.

Ngandu has been highly rated at City as he has risen through the Academy.

Personally don’t think it will be that valuable for him football wise however it really will develop him off the pitch so I’m a bit unsure really

This makes sense, there’s not many options for loans atm as the National League doesn’t start again until October. The Icelandic season ends then I think it’s about a 9 game loan
Ah fair enough probably is worth it then and when he comes back we look at the national league

Erm.. I've never been to Iceland but il add it to my list
I know a bit about the place. Women tend to have the same attitude as men when it comes to picking up. Also given the population is small outsiders drinking in the bars often get extra attention.

Hope he is there for the Football...9 games is a decent loan and seems like the games will mean something too.

Looks to be a huge sporting club covering many sports for the whole area with roots very firmly in the community.

Me and Mrs WM went in early March just before lockdown, for 4 nights.

Having been to places like the US, Maldives, Dubai etc, I can safely say that Iceland is my favourite place so far. I love beach holidays but the scenery in Iceland is absolutely stunning. Hired a car a drive around the 'golden circle' and did all the tourist spots.

Couldn't recommend it enough.

Very expensive place to live. Mind you Minke whale tastes really good. Not the best selection according to my vegetarian wife!

Yeah it was expensive to be fair. I'd defo go self catering again and only eat out the odd night. I think a two course meal with a couple of beers and glasses of fizz, worked out no far off £100. Food wasn't too fancy either albeit really nice.

My brother lived there for 3 months. Also a well known fact. Read this for more info. Send me a DM if u go as my brother can suggest places to visit.

It's okay, I've been there enough already.

Good move for Ngandu I think, hopefully he'll get a lot out of this move

They've got to pay back all those ripped off pension schemes somehow .,🤭
Had a worimate who has travelled extensively while gaining employment, usually a year or more at a time.

He raved about the place and lifestyle.
Same for Estonia and Norway .
I guess if you're earning in local currency you're insulated to a degree also.

Hopefully one of the lads gets a loan to OFI Crete and enjoys enormous watermelons for 30 p each

I had my stag do in Estonia 5 years ago. Would love to tell you that it's a beautiful place but I don't really remember much about it!

The women can be stunning.

Probably.

My mate got a pic of me in a strip club, tied to a chair as two topless ladies danced around me. They looked pretty fit to be fair.

I then jumped of the stage I was on and broke a toe. Next day, lots of alcohol early doors to numb the pain of the toe and we went go-karting mid afternoon. I was worse for wear by this point and of course, H&S in Eastern Europe isn't as stringent as here so the karts were pretty fast.

I put one into a wall sideways and broke a couple of ribs. More alcohol that night to see me to the end of the stag. Flight back was the worst 3-4 hrs of my life!

It is.
I should have a house in Nomme (a beautiful suburb in S. Tallinn) but the soviet government gave us a choice of handing it over to the state or passing it on to a cousin. Did the latter.
Hoping to visit the house next year as my daughter is in contact with the cousin's daughter now and is working on it!
Can't wait (Estonian EU passport at the ready!).
