Didn't Carsley all ready get promoted to assistant/coach?

what bothers me is that we we have no depth in squad but equally we have no depth on the touchline either.

As it stands, Carsley and Thorn are the only ones coaching the outfield players. We have no full time fitness coach (sharing one with Leicester Tigers doesn't count), the physio's left, and we now have no assistant manager to a manager with just one season under his belt. This does just as much damage to our prospects as the skeleton crew of a team we have.

agrre with other - so thin on the ground not just the amount of players we have, but backroom staff as well. Oggy as GK coach seems pretty good and we've always had decent keepers, apart from that we're struggling.

thorn / carsley cannot coach a squad of 20+, as well as be fitness coach, treat injuries, develop players etc etc.

Is Thorn still scout as well. Can't remember if Waggot was just to deal with contracts or was taking over scouting.

Thorn remains Head Scout and I'm pretty sure we have another scout at the club-Waggott's employed for the negotiations side of things.

Regardless of coaches, we WILL get a physio in. Clubs need a qualified body to deal with injuries. Can you imagine AT running on and applying the magic sponge?!

Is it legal for a league club not to have a physio? What are players expected to do if they are injured - tend to themselves? This is potentially putting their long term health at risk and I dread to think what an insurance company would say. How are we expected to attract players if this amateurism is present off the pitch? We are simply not being run as a professional outfit.

We simply have to get SISU out as this can't be allowed to go on.

We do still have club doctors so it's not as though there's no medical staff at the club-my thinking is if we're intent on being as cheap as possible, we may as well ask Warwick/Cov unis to lend us some physiotherapy interns...

:thinking about:Would someone please put me right on this one:

I always thought Harrison was an assistant manager, yet on the offal he's described only as a coach.

More 'spin', or am I just getting more paranoid??

He came in as Colemans Assistant to replace Kean, then became coach under Boothroyd. He was joint Caretaker under Thorn and then became assistant again when Thorn was offered full time.

The Offal doen't update much!!

Thanks WillieStanley.

Out of interest I checked a CCFC programme from last season and, surprise, surprise - he's listed as assistant manager.

I guess the statement
'Coach Steve Harrison has left Coventry City by mutual consent.'
reads better than
'Assistant Manager Steve Harrison has left Coventry City by mutual consent.'

The word 'coach' gets banded about a lot more in football these days-too much of this foreign influence I tells ya!

Thank goodness he's gone at last! I have suggested he needed to go many times on here as he was culpable for so much wrong. Hopefully Thorn will now become his own man more with Carsley's supporting role and we will reap the benefit from this.
