Rightly disqualified, it's the rules...

What seems to be pretty poor is the media witch-hunt towards him... he lost his rag, launched the ball, and it was an accident, i'm sure he regrets it...

Yet the media seem happy to turn a blind eye to high-profile drug cheats in athletics and cycling, and put footballers on a pedestal who openly cheat to gain an advantage.

It was a spur of the moment reaction from anger and frustration of a top sportsmen who is massively competitive. You can tell it was never his intention to hit them and he was clearly apologetic instantly.

The rules stated he had to be disqualified but it shouldn't be taken as a means of character assassination.

I read the article earlier and only watched the video in this thread just now.

The way they were describing it on the BBC was as if he launched a 500mph serve in her direction!

Yes should have been disqualified from tournament but that should be end of it; wasn’t meant, wasn’t powerful...just unlucky it hit
