Absolutely, it’s a nice thought but He would only work as back-up in the system we play and suspect he might earn a touch more than Ben Wilson

If he's got time left on his contract, and was previously no 1 keeper he could easily be on £20k a week. He will sit his contract out, unless Wednesday agree to pick up a good chunk of his salary. He may get a short term move somewhere if there is a GK crisis.

I’m not knocking Marosi , I like him as a keeper don’t get me wrong. But Westwood is the better of the two. This is all hypothetical anyway, If Marosi is to be our number 1 this season then I have no qualms with that.

Westwood WAS the better of the two. He's now a fair bit older than when we had him and while his age isn't particularly old for a goalkeeper he's not getting any younger. Plus his style isn't suited to the playing out from the back. Marosi can be TOO calm under pressure at times and take unnecessary risks and I'm a bit wary of how this might translate in the Championship with players of just that bit more quality. Things he just about got away with last year he may not this. Time will tell, and if he does hopefully he'll be able to take in on board and adapt, speeding up his distribution or whatever.

I know Oggy was talking about going long, which isn't the way forward as a tactic, BUT it does need doing every half dozen or so times to vary it up. If you always play it short at the back the opposition know it and just automatically push right up ready to press because they know that's what happen. I felt we saw that yesterday with MK that they'd done their homework, know we play from the back and pressed accordingly and it was effective on many occassions. Against FLC teams it might well be more costly.

Hitting it more direct every so often stops them doing it.

Marc mcnulty being linked with Gillingham, will score plenty in league 1 if he’s given chance as the main man in my opinion.

Jak Hickman made his debut for Bolton in the Checkatrade in midweek. Impressed for them by all accounts. It’s a shame as, but for ‘that’ video he’d probably be starting in the Championship for us on Saturday

So it leaves Charlie Wakefield (on trial at Harrogate, didn’t sign him), Bouwe Bosma, Reise Allassai and Jordi Hiwula without a club. Can’t find any info about trials anywhere. Did Junior Brown go back to Scunthorpe?

Corey Addai has joined Barnsley FC after playing there on loan last season. Will go into their U23s team.

Seems like a decent move for him to earn a contract there, I hope he can kick on. Though at 22 I'd have thought it would be better to find first team football even if it is lower down the leagues than being signed for the U23 team.

Yeah agreed but I guess it's another option at a Championship club. Who knows...an injury to one of their first team keepers and he could get a chance.

He would have started at RWB over Burroughs and Rowe all preseason. Very good chance he’d have played - I agree Pask is better but at Wing back I’m not convinced Pask is ‘way ahead’ at all

Even when he was here he wasn't really pushing from the u23s towards the first team was he? (I obviously stand to be corrected on that :) ) and still now he was in non league last season and in league 2 this season so I'm not sure if he would have been starting ahead of pask this weekend

I think Pask has shown fuck all to live up to this Cafu reputation he's got for some reason and it pisses me off

No-ones saying that. Pretty much everyone thinks he's more likely to be a better centre back. It's a comparison between him, Rowe and Burroughs and he should really be closer to first team ready than the others. Esp when MR initially signing him as cover for RB.

Yes but where from?

Better days said hes got good potential and is well thought of at the club. But what have we actually seen as supporters to back this up?

The games he played last year, granted only 2, he wasn't exactly a standout.

The vast consensus from pre season also is that Burroughs and Rowe were the better RWB. Drysdale as the better CB also.

If Dabo and dacosta weren’t injured he wouldn’t be playing and if he starts on Saturday you could say he would look like the weak link on paper but hes definitely the best option out of him Burroughs and Rowe.

Pask hasn't yet played cb for us, he's played out of his natural position and acquitted himself reasonably well. Nobody is saying he's Cafu.

Robins doesn't seem to think so. Brings in Ostigaard

What League are Bolton in now?

League 2. Hickman has done unbelievably well to get that move. Fair play they have a great chance of promotion with Doyle up front. Every chance he's a reg league 1 rb next season if things go well.

Addai to barnsley is odd but he clearly has something plus he's about 19 ft tall so worth a low wage punt.

Marosi way better with his feet than Westwood.

Both great keepers.

Might reserve my judgement till the end of the season when Marosi has had a season in the Champ before deciding whose best.

Deep down, I think you know what league Bolton are in... my point isn’t that Hickman is good enough for the Championship. My point is that given the injuries to Dacosta and Dabo, and the fact that Pask is clearly a CB he would’ve been our strongest ‘natural’ RWB.

A bit of patience and the non-posting of that video might’ve got him a couple of Championship appearances before a loan to L2.

If you think that opinion is contentious, wait until you hear what shape I think earth is...

If the club thought highly enough of him ability wise I'm not sure they would be been so keen to let him go after that video. He was 20 years old at the time and hardly knocking on the door of the first team.
