I'm off to bed, steep learning curve against a side that will probably gain automatic promotion...

Can't be too hard on the team as we were out of our depth tonight in experience and resources

4s all round, we will get better, but never to that level with what we have...

Survival the aim always PUSB

Hyam 8 Ohare 7. About it.

Was shocked how many times Dabo was done. Defensively he was dog shit

Marosi – 7 Only player to come out with any real credit

Dabo – 6 All the usual energy, none of the usual end product
Ostigard – 5 Looked overmatched
McFadzean – 5 Same
Hyam – 6 Couple of flashy goal-line clearances, although he may have been to blame in the first place
Giles – 5 One or two moments of quality but anonymous in second half

Hamer – 6 Different class first half, very poor second, foolish red card
Sheaf – 5 Doesn't look match fit to me
Shipley – 4 Will always love the guy, but has to prove he belongs at this level fast
O'Hare – 6 Our only difference-maker in their final third, but all too infrequently

Godden – 5 Never stood a chance against a very solid back line

Rose – 6 Glad to have him back
Allen – 5 A marked improvement on Shipley but didn't affect the game
McCallum – N/A

How many years has it been since we were outmatched like that in a league game? Yes, you can see teams get battered in L1 and L2, but generally speaking every team is on a similar level. Bournemouth looked so much more athletic, organized and technical than we did. It's the kind of mismatch you might only see in the Championship. That's what several years of the Prem will do for you I suppose. - I'm actually kind of impressed we kept it to 3-1. We have to find a way to play against teams like that, especially going forward – I never once felt Godden had a prayer against their back three.

Think this is spot on, only change I’d make is O’Hare possibly 7. He broke the lines a few times, good running, hit the post twice and they just took to hacking and pulling at him.

Marosi 9 - several very good saves and no chance with the goals
Ostigard 5
McFadzean 5
Hyam 9 - will have attracted some eyes after his intelligent tracking back and saving two certain goals
Dabo 4 - well off the pace and very poor distribution
Hamer 5 - docked points for the stupid reaction for the sending off.
Sheaf 5 - + 1 for creating the penalty.
Giles 3 - extremely poor. Knew he was beaten from the get go and so never tried to create anything,
O’Hare 6 - passing poor but ran around a lot and never gave up.
Shipley 4
Godden 8 - Performed on the only chance he was given.

Allen 5 - better than Shipperz
Rose 6 - Better than Osti

Marosi 7 (some good saves)
Dabo 6 ( improved with the ball a little as game went on but no way near on his game - still gaining match fitness)
Giles 6 (went missing for one goal. Nice touch and pass to O'Hare first half but nothing else)
Hyam 8 (motm. Could have been an embarrassing scoreline without him)
McFadzean 7 (battled as usual)
Ostigard 7 (a little reckless but such a strong defender)
Hamer 6 (matched the hype in first half with his alround performance but gave the ball away too much and costly 2nd half. Found out with his ill-discipline - annoyed though with Cook's provocation)
Sheaf 6 (dodgy start but kept the ball better after that. Think he will get better)
Shipley 5 (thought he would do better further forward but looked lacking in confidence, slow getting goal side)
O'Hare 7.5 (only creative player. Unlucky hitting the post and normal battling attitude)
Godden 7 (did about as much as he could considering limited service. If we had 11 men I would have given him a rest after 70 and bring Baka on)

Rose 7 (normal steady performance)
Allen 6 ( didn't really get much of the ball but his control and speed to get goal side was far better than Shipley)

I didn’t expect anything from today, they’re a top side, we shouldn’t be too harsh even though there were a few wayward performances.

Marosi - 8 kept it from being embarrassing
Dabo - 5 uncharacteristically poor, hoping it’s just fitness
Hyam - 8 extra points for two goal saving interventions
McFadzean - 6
Ostigard - 5 too rash and lucky not to go
Giles - 5 his worst game for us
Hamer - don’t know what to rate him, moments of magic, madness and tragedy
Shipley - 4 awful
Sheaf - 5 needs time to bed in but yet to be convinced
O’Hare - 7 our only outlet for most the game
Godden - 5 took his pen well. About it.

First off, they're much better than I anticipated. Players like Lerma and Gosling are better than this level. They're no good at the back but we didn't really test that.

Marosi 5 some good saves but like early last season, needs to look at the game in front of him before playing short
Ostigard 4 a bit of a liability, poor distribution, rash. Played them onside for Solanke round the keeper chance
McFadz 7 solid again
Hyam 7 as McFadz, two great goal saving blocks handball or not
Giles 5 seemed reluctant to get to the byline, weak in the tackle. Almost as if he expects Mccallum to replace him
Dabo 6 better going forward than Giles but struggled to impose
Sheaf 5.5 started badly getting caught in possession twice in the first minute or two, got better
Hamer 4 everybody loves him as he's talented on the ball, but he played a part in all 3 of their goals. Ball watching for the first, sloppy give away for the second and rash for the third. His sending off was harsh but he gave the ref the opportunity
Shipley 5 pretty anonymous, never ever gets a tackle in, very one footed
O'Hare 7 ploughed a loan furrow did a lot of it
Godden 6.5 won plenty but isolated

Subs
Allen 5.5 better than Shipley just but the game was gone after their 3rd

Robins 5
Disappointed that we didn't give anybody else a run out at 3-1 down

Marosi 6, couple of good saves, distribution mixed - doesn’t seem to spot the break runs and hence throw out early.

Dabo 6, looks competent at this level and isn’t outmuscled as much as some of our other players. Has had better games but nonetheless solid.

Ostigard 6, lower Champ level centre half - did well but was lucky to stay on. Sensible substitution.

Mcfadzean 7, solid enough. Was worried that he’d be constantly outpaced at this level at his age.

Hyam 7 - good enough. Put the effort in and saved a goal or two. Odd mistake but on balance did well

Giles 3 - has had some cracking games but this wasn’t one of them. Lost the ball and let it roll out of play on several occasions
which led to play being turned over. Poor in general. Subbed to late. Hope it’s a blip.

Hamer 7 - I’ve seen some rate him 3/2 etc. Stupid to be sent off and missed a couple of track backs. It looked like he’d been told to push up and let Sheaf zone around in front of the back 3. Watch the replay of Sheaf shrugging his shoulders for one of their goals. Would have got a higher mark if he hadn’t reacted to the shove.

Sheaf 3 - this wasn’t his game. Reminds me of Steven Hughes after his first season. Probably great in training but really was below par today. Will be torn apart against Brentford so needs to sit out else his confidence will be shot. Needs to bulk up and get some effort in off the ball. Bournemouth midfielders pressed. Can’t recall Sheaf doing that.

Shipley 3, was handed a huge opportunity today. Didn’t take it. Wasn’t his day. Needs to find space to receive a ball from a throw in. Simple stuff like that. Whenever we get a throw in it gets turned over because Shipley (and others) seem to have glue on the soles of their boots for a second.

Ohare 8 put in the effort. His the outside of the post twice. Runs back. Runs all game. Good enough.

Godden 6, their high press meant that Godden often became the target man. Not his strong suit. Did ok, kept running. Needed to be told to burn himself out and snap at their defence and chase every ball back and then be swapped at 65 mins for one of our more physical strikers.

Allen 5 - ok. Didn’t do much special.
Rose 6 - did well.
mccallum - 6, Giles’ performance would have pleased Sam.

Think some of the ratings are a bit harsh but agree with much of your reasoning

2 for Hamer seriously. Yes he got sent off for a moment of madness but overall he was ok and saves us from another goal

Marosi 7 saved us from this game being 4 or 5
Dabo 4 extremely poor, couldn’t think of a completed pass in the game
Ostigard 4 got a little found out last night
Mcfadzean 6 bit flat footed and struggled which the pace but not terrible
Hyam 7 best player for us
Giles 4 same as dabs
Hamer 4 still don’t think it was a sending off but hardly in the game
Sheaf 4 midfield were in trouble from the get go
Shipley 4 Ditto
Ohare 6 was trying but not much going on
Godden 6 a little isolated tonight

Allen 5 we looked a little better but I guess we were chasing the game
Rose 6 good to see a return

I thought he played a part in all 3

1st he got sucked to the ball while Lerma sat waiting on the edge of the area
2nd he lost the ball then didn't follow his man Gosling
3rd he did a half hearted challenge when he could have just stood the player up

On the ball he's very good but off it not great at all

Yeah but he played two good cross field balls though

People will see the odd hard tackle he makes and laud him for his defending, but there's so much more to defending than that.

Anyway, as I've said all along Kelly is our most important player, so I'm looking forward to his return
Its just a shame we haven't really got to see our first choice middle 2 together and now won't for another 3 games.
