Hammer red card some observations
1) By the rules it was red card
2) Ask a doctor or a member of the judiciary to place the scything of Dabo, Cooks action, and Hamers action in order of danger Hamers comes third by a long way. Elbow or clenched fist should be the mandatory red card.
3) Clinton Morrisson on Sky reckons that the way Cook sucked Hamer into the slap was “part of the game” Trouble is refs don’t understand the dark arts

Unfortunately Morrison is right, but people like him are part of the problem. Instead of just saying it's part of the game, they should be condemning it.

Martial has just been sent off for something pretty much identical to what Hamer did.

Similar red card in the Man Utd match. Lamela threw an elbow into Martials throat, Martial reacted to it with a tiny tap to Lamela's face. Only Martial sent off. Such a ridiculous rule.

Martial literally tapped him.
Lamela rolling around on the floor like he had been hit by Tyson after he put his elbow in Martial's throat.

How VAR didn't either say no red card, or Lamela sent off too I have no idea.

How did bailly not get sent off for the studs down the back of kanes leg
Looked deliberate to me and far worse than the handbags between martial and lamella

Souness going in about the sending off.

Both should have been off, not sure how VAR missed it.

Just seen McSheffrey’s comments on Hamer,

Doesn’t fancy it out of possession doesn’t track runners and pulls out of tackles Dan Gosling taught him a lesson.

Hamer has been excellent so far wasn’t his greatest night Friday but I’m certain he will learn and grow.

McSheffrey has been bitter about us for a couple of years.

Gosling the player with a couple of hundred Premier League games?

So if the rule is you can't raise your arms could he have got away with a booking if he had punched him in the bollocks?

It was something out of nothing but this day and age your going to get sent off for it he should have known that but get caught up in the heat of the moment plus we were losing 3-1 he probably thought fuck this we aren't coming back I'm off

This... Was extremely vocal in the media when the (in his mind) expected one-year deal in League 2 never materialised.

Anyone who was at Grimsby home would have seen why he was not on MR's radar... plus the striker he did sign on a free did rather well.

Probably thinks Doyler would do a better job!

From conversations I've had, I think McSheffrey's issue is with Robins slightly more than with the club. Robins politely told him no after he repeatedly asked to come back (I think it was during the summer of the League Two campaign), and from what I remember I believe there were a few words exchanged between the two. Apparently this stemmed from McSheffrey attempting to give it the big 'I Am' after his offer was respectfully declined, which went down as well as you can probably expect.

Look where we are now, you don't get that by doing favours so people can move back home.

McSheffrey needs to get real, he was atrocious in his second spell.
