The only strong incentive for a SISU/ccfc return to the Ricoh would be if a particularly good deal was offered. If, as you say, we are just swapping backdrops and financially there is no difference, then it isn't worth returning from a SISU/ccfc point of view.

Id argue good will among your customer base is always valuable.

Wasps probably do need us as the covenant issues centre around a clear potential devaluation of the site which would be strengthened by having a championship club playing there

No one knows who actually did end talks but at the time there was some expectation of fans returning and the other side of the business re-opening. Wasps (Holdings) are in a precarious position - no doubt about that and they need a way of hiking the valuation up given the continued lack of cash coming through - Rugby itself is on the brink of collapse and Wasps have 75% of revenue (which barely breaks even) tied up in non sporting income streams

Im sure all the party's will be trying to strike a deal in time for City of Culture 2021. Surely this has got to be the aim.

Be excellent PR and would be a massive deal for sports and Culture in the city. Would be great feel good factor fans or no fans in the ground.

The record is stuck. Only a smallish crowd will follow city away from Cov again. If we come back it will take time to gain trust again...no matter who is to blame.

My thoughts as well. They need to find money from everywhere, make their balance sheet as good as possible and keep the remaining shareholders on board.

Whilst no fans are allowed the primary concerns should be the quality of the pitch + whatever is financially beneficial to us.
The playing surface at St Andrews is vastly superior & we know there is a significant break clause to get out of the St Andrews deal.
Not sure we should be propping up Wasps in these circumstances.

IF wasps are instigating talks and SISU have some kind of upper hand, I hope this is an opportunity to finally get it right after all these years.

Weather that's a decent cost and length of rental while they actually start to build at the Uni - or an amicable partnership seeing us buy into a 50/50 share of the Richo lease and all the perks the council offered wasps.

Not to go all I told you so, but I did in fact tell people so at the time. We don’t even have a partnership yet.

Only where you are in competition with each other. Generally rugby fans are separate from football crowds so any deal should be mutually beneficial. Under current conditions though, in the short term, unless wasps substantially undercut the deal we have with Birmingham, it's hard to see what benefits there are in returning to the Ricoh.

Where have you seen about the 7/10 years mate?

That's what Joy herself quoted in a web meeting approx 2 weeks ago to a close family member of mine who is going to be inevitably involved should the "idea" of a new stadium progress.
She was also very vague in answering any questions about the potential stadium, to the point where the above mentioned family member is now 100% convinced it's nothing more than a smoke screen covering other reasons.

Sorry for the cryptic answer, but discretion is needed for obvious reasons.
But in short, forget any new stadium.
