Fresh Ricoh talks (13 Viewers)

That's what Joy herself quoted in a web meeting approx 2 weeks ago to a close family member of mine who is going to be inevitably involved should the "idea" of a new stadium progress.
She was also very vague in answering any questions about the potential stadium, to the point where the above mentioned family member is now 100% convinced it's nothing more than a smoke screen covering other reasons.

Sorry for the cryptic answer, but discretion is needed for obvious reasons.
But in short, forget any new stadium.

Ah ok, well let's see what happens then, thanks for the insider info... Very interesting that she is saying one thing to your family member and another to the labour MPs last week

It's never fucking easy with this club is it 😂

This would be good news - never understood the mentality of the 'Fuck the Ricoh' people

Personally I've always felt like the Warwick Uni announcement was the equivalent of Photoshopping a picture of you hanging out with Megan Fox to try and convince your ex you've really moved on this time (I don't expect to end up with Megan Fox either)

Good Info there mate...I think we all know there will be no new stadium if we are honest

Ricoh talks and anything happening or not happening with a new stadium are not related in any way.

Fair enough. Just making sure there wasn't any misinterpretation.

FWIW I remain positive about this but so much can go wrong as we've seen over the summer.

Honestly my biggest worry is CCFC (probably correctly if I’m honest) seeing a season ahead with no fans and a large break clause penalty and have no appetite for this season. Then any peace has to hold until next summer. By which point literally anything could’ve happened.

At least they are talking, even if it might be about a return next season. I think everyone, including Seppala and Richardson, is battle weary and just want resolution of this whole saga. Both sides will have moved their positions and needed to i feel

I think the hard work put in by Pete and Mark should be recognised by all involved and on this forum. Without their positive and patient efforts there would be no talks going on. Well done guys 👏👏👏

Fingers crossed something gets agreed and we all find closure of this mess

Keep the fans off her back while she tries to distress the Ricoh is the theory I guess.
But everyone thinks that’s not gonna happen for years. Covid may change stuff of course. If we are at the Ricoh it will positively affect wasps and make it less likely but what do I or any of us know of business at this level

My suspicion would be that they are maybe looking at next season. I'm not quite sure how much benefit there would be moving mid-season now. Pitch will likely need something doing with it too.

Hope so. Ideal scenario would be a deal signed for next season complete with pitch quality guarantees. Then we just have to stay up, or we do the promotion season properly this time in Cov with no COVID :D

Lots of goodwill and the opportunity to make a multi year deal for security at a time when there’s no real push to get things sorted financially. Comes with its own problems of procrastination of course

Good news that there is at least dialogue after the previous fallout from the summer. Hopefully, a return to Coventry is engineered because we won't be competitive in the Championship past season without returning home.

Why doesn't anyone want a bad pitch? Last year excellent football and a winning team. This season despite our style, we could perhaps do with a bit of a 'leveller' ;-)

"I guess SISU can see a potential opportunity to screw over a business rival even in a global pandemic......such nice people!!!"

This is a wasps fan view on it.

This is wasps who screw over everyone they come in to contact with.

It's strange how nobody will mention that they were involved in a takeover bid while refusing to negotiate a rental deal.

What do you expect when most of the frothers get their news from the copy and paste Telegraph.

I don't know if this has been mentoned or not but the revaluation of stadium is coming up. If its done to include the present condition of the economy et al then hopefully that will be an ass clenching moment all round.

I've always been in favour of CCFC playing at the Ricoh if a deal can be done that suits both clubs. I can't see it being a 50/50 deal though as Wasps will always want to keep a controlling share, it would also raise the argument over who's fixture take priority. there is also the question of your new stadium so why would you want to buy into an existing stadium? if SISU are serious about building it the rental agreement in the interim seems to make sense.

And CCFC don't, in the current climate the Wilson money won't last long

But the extra money from the championship will 😉

I actually feel sorry for proper wasps fans that this has been such a cluster fuck for them but it sounds like the clock is ticking and if the bond holders don't agree to the changes then the club is doomed

I know nothing but, if I was negotiating with Wasps I'd big up the alternatives - including the possibility of the Uni site. If on the other hand I was serious about our own site, I might play it down. But you are probably right, the uni site is all smoke and mirrors sadly. But I'm biassed, I can't stand the Ricoh

But we need somewhere to play if the new stadium is built, we can't realistically be out of Coventry for the 5 or so years it would take to build the new stadium and the Ricoh is the only option in the short/mid term
