The Nations League is a poor attempt at making friendlies out to be more than they actually are.... i think interest for this Nations league is less than the last one. And we are still getting pointless friendlies (Wales) in addition...!!
That's exactly what's it's aim was and it's worked. We can he him uefa back for multitude if reasons but the nation's league is not one of them

Not so sure its worked. Is anyone that "into" the Nations League, beyond the media who want the viewing figures. They are simply friendlies with a new name.

And why are we still playing "pointless" friendlies too?

I'm not buying it...

I find international Football boring most of the players don’t seem to want to be there and these silly breaks ruin the season, if they want to play international’s play them at the end of the season in a block out of the way, there is time as without the breaks the season would finish earlier.

For England it’s always the same lose in tournament say we are planning for far enough ahead so people forget it you have moved into another job.

I would rather see City get promoted or win something than England winning any tournament

I guess it’s allowed Scotland half a chance at qualifying, mind you they did have to expand it to nearly every country in Europe

The two friendlies are there as 16 countries have to play play off games this month and half of those will do in November. If they are playing extra games, others might as well do so too. If anything the amount of friendlies has been less this year than it would’ve been. Personally I was sceptical of the NL initially but it has worked. The Croatia game actually created an atmosphere at Wembley. Something we don’t see very often. Lesser nations have also seen some success and they’ve had games that are competitive. Georgia or North Macedonia getting to the Euros will be huge for them and probably wouldn’t have happened for a long time without the new competition. If it helps them become more competitive in the future and lifts them as a nation I’m all for it.

It’s great to see. Even Scotland are managing to get a draw or two.

It is a good moment for Scotland tbf. They became the worst of all the home nations last few years

Now i would have them ahead of both Ireland's and squad is getting closer to a baleless wales

It doesn't surprise me seeing the list of people supporting this disgraceful idea. Gary Neville being top of the pile. That bloke just sums up exactly what I hate about football. Someone who lasted five minutes as a manager doing all the commentary on Sky Sports whilst simultaneously rubbing one out over Man Utd.

I cannot stand what money has done and the way the big clubs behave, and I am forever having to tolerate 'fans' of glory clubs who have no idea what the sport is really about and cannot relate to the rest of us. I try not to get bitter and annoyed but when shit like this comes out it is hard not to.

'I'm a Liverpool fan.'

No you c**t, you are from Leamington Spa. Fuck off.

EDIT: Wrong thread... Who doesn't love a meaning less rant anyway.

england over city…
Wow....you got the shovel out to dig that one up.
I Went to Wembley to watch England, big game, full house, my country, shared with fans of other teams, good game. I went to the play off final to support my club, my City with my people. We didnt win. The emotion involved was off the charts. Coventry City first every time.

Equal, Cov is more personal and takes up more of my thoughts but would give anything to see England win a world cup.

Stupid debate anyway, not a competition just like what you like innit

Quite right, it's not one or the other you can support both.

Club before country any time if you say any different Im sorry but how weak is your emotional attachment to the club?
Same as your emotional attachment to your country. Clearly we all have more love for our club but can you genuinely say you wouldn't get as excited about your country winning the world cup and the national party that brings with it?

I definitely genuinely can say it - the awful non-stop renditions of Sweet Caroline,(which is a shite song anyway),plus endless sightings of 'lads' & chavs going ape makes me wanna heave & fills me with no excitement whatsoever

Absolutely, I would get excited but England are the Tottenham of international football, and to be honest I find international breaks boring and disruptive to the season so make of that what you will
