Marosi 8 (did nothing wrong and some good reactive saves)
Pask 5 (poor touch going forward and far too much room given when defending)
Giles 6 (one decent cross for Godden chance but otherwise ineffective)
Rose 7 (steady game for first 90 minutes back after injury)
McFadzean 8 (motm. Solid, great cover tackle and a couple of pinpoint diagonal balls)
Hyam 7 (again a couple of important blocks. Could have done better for 2nd goal?)
Sheaf 6 (gave the ball away too cheaply too often. Did well creating his two shots on target. Still building match fitness I think)
Allen 7 (looked the most comfortable on the ball and rarely gave the ball away. Looked match fit)
O'Hare 5 (didn't get in the game. Consistently beaten when defending. Not sure he was wearing the right boot?)
Baka 5 (didn't get much of the ball to be fair but his touch wasn't great when he did)
Godden 6 (not much service 1st half but got into good positions when that improved, getting 3 or 4 shots on target including hitting the bar) Frustrates me though that Robins continues to keep him on for 90 when you have eager strikers on the bench (Baka previously and Max today)

McCallum 8 (made a big difference going forward and looked sharp. Wins headers which we don't have in the team outside of the back 3)
Shipley 7 (best game so far this season. Some nice interplay. Looked more confident, maybe as the game was lost)

Marosi - 7 - a couple of decent saves, some shite longer distribution, doesn't get on with Ivan Toney and likes telling him off.

Rose - 6 - I get the love-in defensively, but often find he's the first to want to hoof the ball forward rather than play robins ball. Didn't do that today and was okay, we have missed him.

Hyam - 5 - Shite attempt at a "header" for Toneys offside goal. Was getting done for pace from that ball over the top in the first half until saved by McFadz. Mainly okay though.

McFadz - 6 - People thought he'd be found out at this level. Hasn't really happened, faster than Hyam and a few decent long passes today.

Pask - 4 - Sorry mate, but looked out of your depth. Poor first touches, left exposed (maybe not your fault), some crap passes.

Giles - 5 - Marginally better than Pask mainly for the second half. Ran at his man, got to his man, passed it backwards in the first half. Looked better second half when running at people, getting crosses in etc.

Sheaf - 4 - Some really nice passing, outnumbered often. Lost the ball a few times because of doing things in slow motion. Robins needs to stop him from vaping THC before games.

Shipley - 5 - looked better when he came on. Couldn't really do much but had an influence.

Allen - 5 - Shite first half, pushed off the ball with ease. Better second. Always tries little one-twos, gets a bit predictable and Brentford defence weren't daft.

O Hare - 5 - Didn't seem to have his first touch with him today. Defended well first half because he had to. Imagine he was tiring second half but never stops trying.

Baka - 4 - Don't usually mind him, but utilised wrong today, if anything it should be Godden playing deeper to flick stuff on for him, not that I think he'd manage to control it... Plays better when he's angry.

Godden - 5 - Half the time you wonder if he's on the pitch, then he'll nearly score a minute later. Bit unlucky in second half not to score, anonymous first half for obvious reasons. Hair goes flat in the rain.

McCallum - 6 - Forgot him at first. We looked better defensively when he came on and he managed to get a couple of decent crosses in to our imaginary forwards late in the second half. Was weird seeing him play on the right but he looked better than Pask.

Robins - 4 - should have named himself on the subs bench instead of Kastaneer who was never going to get on.

Brentford - 8 - look a good team, imagine they'll do well.

Ref - 7 - one of the better ones. Didn't like the play-on rule though.

Marosi 7
Pask 5 not a wing back hopefully last time see him play that role, jogs to the ball when defending
Rose 6
Mcfadzean 8
Hyam 6
Giles 6 when dabo fit i think McCallum starts on we can through Giles on if need a goal
Sheaf 5 thankless task for him today almost in midfield by himself gave the ball away too often definite not in same class as Walsh , but should be a lot better with kelly
Allen 6 works hard but offers little
Ohare 7 had one chance on the ball edge of area and the ref stopped play to give us a free kick
Baka 6 offered nothing
Godden 7 offered little but still only real goal threat

McCallum 7 did better than pask when came on
Shipley 8 did really well when came on

Fair ratings from Steve in the opening post.

I would perhaps have marked O'Hare a little higher; always looked dynamic on the ball to me.

To be fair to Pask I don't see him as a RWB; he's only playing there due to the DaCosta injury.

Agree with others on McCallum he looked different class when he came on - even though he was playing on the right hand side.

Looking forward to having players back and getting back to our usual formation; I had no idea what role AB was supposed to be playing today.

Robins 4. Poor decision to play 2 up front against a side as good as Brentford. Was always going to leave us overrun in midfield. Looked better when we went to Godden as sole striker.

Thought sheaf had a much better game today, passed well made himself available and tackled, a big step for him from being a reserve to being the main pivot in a really tough division. Better than he has been.

Oak London Rd 7/10 pint not too bad, Burnt Post table service good, all my horses lost, scollop batch across the rd from the pub 8/10 listened to the game didn’t really get into it but a top team who will be there at the end I suppose we can’t expect any better. I just wish Biamo would come on and knock a few defenders heads and have a go.
It’s going to be a long old season but I can see us getting enough points to stay up just.

Sheaf at fault for second goal, we looked much better when Shipley came on.

Partly, was definitely over optimistic with that pass.
Lets not ignore though that we had 3 x CBs vs 1 striker yet none were anywhere near him. Toney pulled away from Hyam who literally just stood & watched the ball go over his head.

Baka offered nothing but gets a 6? That’s a strange one squire.

if we improved upon the passes that were sent up front to Godden it might help! al i saw was the ball launched in the direction (sorry anywhere but near Godden) Even Kane would struggle with our passing

If we tried to play out teams would pick us off more than they are already

We don’t have good enough players and coming up against much stronger opposition to play how we did in League 1

We are not close to good enough for long ball stuff either tho I would prefer sticking to what we did in league 1 at least were used to playing that way,we done ok against Bristol & QPR playing how we do.

We don’t have the pace or height up front to go long either.
