Good to see Kelly back, hope he's actually ready for a full game and it not just a case of us needing him to play.

Rest of the side as expected, we don't really have a great deal of options at the moment to be making changes.

If Blackburn decide to play an open attacking game we'll have space and be fine but if they compress the midfield I think we'll struggle. Our spine is just too slow under pressure.

Is Hamer still suspended?

They play a high press,20 shots against a strong Watford side,Kelly alongside sheaf we should be ok with options to play out rather than going long

Only a shoulder injury I doubt his overall fitness was much impacted.

Hilßner and Jobello are building cardio fitness and coming back after a year respectively. Nuts to compare the two.

Jobello posted that that he’s back today didn’t he? It seems more preference than fitness

Mum's side are from Blackburn so it's the family derby today. My uncle (who was actually in Lieutenant Pigeon for those old enough to remember) had a season ticket up there from the mid-80s until we lost him to cancer a couple of years ago. This is the first game between us since he died so fairly poignant for me.

Having said that he loved a moan about the football so I hope we dick them 5-0
Lieutenant Pigeon!
The good old days
Sorry to hear of his demise
A shame you can't all get together today

If they press us and pin the wingbacks back then Kelly and Sheaf will be on the toes of the centre backs with only Allen, O'Hare and Godden to aim for. Then you'll be saying Sheaf is pedestrian again :p but the reality is he won't have the progressive passes available that he is looking to make. Our wingbacks have to be brave and get high even if it means one of the DMs filling in at fullback, like Kelly used to do for Grimmer in L2. Our formation is toothless with the type of players we have in it, if the wingbacks are forced to defend.

He didn’t say he’s playing. He could’ve just had a sign off from the U23 games and told he’s now fit enough going forward. Who knows. It’s a bit weird to write off a player coming back from an ACL because he didn’t play two games in two days.

It doesn’t look great for Hilssner or Jobello really if Bapaga is preferred after 1 U23 game when they’ve played the last 3

You joking?

Jobello has had his knee reconstructed (not just a straight ACL) and Hilssner has had an asthma issue. Both are going to take time to get over and for them to get up to match fitness. To say it doesn’t look great for them is premature I think

Bapaga had a full pre season before his injury

Regardless of a high press or not sheaf and Kelly need to move the ball quick.
