We haven't been undone by sublime goals or brilliant attacking play. We've created the problems for ourselves.

But with the quality of forwards recently we have been rightly punished for making the mistakes, other teams wouldn't have taken them

We definitely need to cut them out though and hopefully over time we will once we get up to speed with the league

The argument from some has been it'll be alright when we play more of the teams around us. OK, let's see whether or not that theory holds up. Wednesday's deduction being halved just upped the urgency

I know we're losing when playing well at times and its frustrating. We're shooting ourselves with costly individual errors, but new to the league, learning and adapting against much better opposition. I think we still have reasons to be positive and I've not lost the belief we can stay up yet:

*It's only 11 games in out of 46
*Our general play has improved
*More confidence on the ball than a couple of weeks back
*Came from behind to lead
*Scoring more goals recently
*Played the top teams apart from Norwich and have games against lesser opposition upcoming
*Getting match fitness and sharpness
*Dabo soon back
*Combinations starting to to look better and in particular Hamer/Sheaf which will be crucial
*Still just outside bottom 3
*Other teams who played the in lockdown will collect some knocks and niggles as we get stronger

I'd also like to add that we've played 6 of the top 7, and given all but Bournemouth a game.

Of the lower ranked teams we've played we've beaten QPR, drawn with Barnsley, outplayed Forest away and should've won but for a last minute brain-fart.

The other two were mid-table Blackburn playing with 10 men, and last season's play-off finalists Brentford.

We're better than 4th bottom and that'll show when we have a run of games against the team's around us.

Definitely and if we play like we have done the last few games we will do well

The list is pointless it’s all lovely making these posts smiley faces etc we can’t do the basics right and have conceded 22 in 11 we’re showing relegation form currently
If we had only conceded 22 we would have a point from today

I don’t think we’re on par with enough teams for that theory to work out.

People will call it negative and they’re allowed to disagree. But going off what I’ve seen, I don’t think we’ll stay up.

We were greater than the sum of our parts last season and were promoted ahead of schedule, which reflects itself on the pitch. But endlessly getting shithoused because we can't defend isn't how I want us to bow out of this league if it comes down to it.

Barnsley and Luton were both dead and buried until the last 2 months. Adapting. We've adapted but still giving stupid points away.

It's like we've lost 2 stone, bagged a date wit the fit bird from the office we have no chance with, wooed her and go back to hers. She slips off upstairs and instead of going up and sealing the deal, we notice she's got a giant Victoria sponge on the side. We got from smashing hher to smashing that thhrn running out feeling sick, cake everywhere. We need to reject the cake and take the real prize.

Or you know, stop throwing away points

On Tuesday we got her in bed and were about to seal the deal before our old schoolmate comes in and voms over the sheets

Here's hoping you're right.

The next three games with give us a much better indication of where we are, if we don't get at least 4 points my optimism will start to wane a bit but hopefully dabo and godden will be back then as well...

To only be fourth from bottom after playing 6 of the current top 7 isn't that terrible and the fact we are all rightly disappointed with no points Wednesday and today shows I think that we are not far away at all

We should be aiming for 6. Blues look all over the place at the moment and Derby's torrid form doesn't look like stopping. Doubt we'll get anything out of Cardiff

They will get more time Mate As we don’t have any other options we have to hope we can stick with the teams around us and hope Joy drops robins a care package in jan
So are you advocating spending above our means again like we did all those years ago in the Prem and put us in a position whereby the club could go to the shit?

He hasn't got a clue what he is on about, he'll be wanting us to not sign anyone if we beat blues 😂

Didn’t know we spent the entire budget ?

do you know our budget then ? Have we used it all ? Did robins not keep any back for jan like he likes to do ?

If I remember, at the start of the season the majority on here agreed that our route to staying up is to take points from the teams in the bottom half of the division, with the occasional win/draw against top half teams.
Looking at the table as it stands today we have played 3 teams in the bottom half, QPR, Barnsley, Notts F.
We took 4 points from those games, but we played well enough to, and should have got, at least 5
We have played 6 of the top 7 teams and taken 4 points from those.
Looking at it like that I think it's a bit early to say we are doomed to relegation.

I would surmise that a lot of the budget had already gone - don’t know whether you noticed but there is a thing called a coronavirus going around stopping us all from going to games and spending our hard earned cash to tide the club over for them to use elsewhere.
Robins has probably kept some back a little but it’s not going to be enough to find a better player than Rose/Ostigard or Hyam which is what your advocating.

So we probably do have some budget left thanks for clearing that up 😁

We have signed one first team player on a permanent in January over the last three seasons. Chaplin which was already agreed in the loan deal.

Does that rule it out then ? I will be shocked if we don’t bring in at least 2 in January even if their only loans

It doesn’t, but equally it’s hardly something that Robins “likes to do”.

Anyway, back to the point, the strange thing is that I don’t think we look defensively fragile constantly, it just seems to be complete brainfarts half the time. Has to be some hope that these are coached out before demanding we go and buy more players.

It’s harder to sign quality players at that time. Also if we don’t resolve the issues with the squad we have it’s going to be too late anyway

I don’t see what budget we would have left to sign anybody worthwhile

The budget is whatever Joy decides it is. If Robins convinces her another player is the difference between L1 and Champ next season I reckon the budget will be found.

We’ve brought in 2/3 loans every January, I wouldn’t be surprised if we did again. I don’t think January is the right time to buy outright anyway.
