Have to say, how good were Spain tonight. On a different planet to any other team and those Italians are a good team. Perhaps the Spanish got a bit lucky with Italy going down to 10 men but the game was won then anyway.
Been an enjoyable tournement on the whole certainly better than that farcical World Cup and i have to say in the main played in the right spirit. A good tournement.
Last word, referees, what a breath of fresh air they have been, apart from the first idiot flashing those barmy red cards in the Poland v Greece game the refs were first class. I wonder if the card happy clowns in the Premiership will take note.

It's the best International Tournament I've watched in a good few years. Having only 16 teams meant every team was at worst, still watchable. Teams like Croatia and Sweden - even England to an extent, put on a good show. I personally didn't want Spain to win it - my opinion is they've played very slow football with the exception of the final where they went to a new level.

For me, 3 major trophy's tells you all you need to know, and the average age of that team for the next world cup will be 28. Add on to that there youth team who will no doubt be guided by the seniors. I can see them dominating for some years to come.

Thats the thing tho, no matter how good the opposition are spain can move up a few gears.

i must say i enjoyed the tournament, great to see massive countries battle it out even in the group stages. I think everyone will agree that you cannot beat the format......oh wait yes there is someone and sadly he controls the figgin thing! To increase the size will be a big mistake and will let crap teams into the tournament i.e. Ireland. They qualified fair and square which was great because they deserved it but they were completely outclassed in every game and what Platini is proposing, will encourage more teams of a similar level in, dont agree with it personally.
