I read this morning we don't have any of it in the country??

BBC Quote

"Immunisations could start within days for people in high priority groups.
The UK has already ordered 40m doses - enough to vaccinate 20m people, with two shots each.
Around 10m doses should be available soon, with the first 800,000 arriving in the UK in the coming days."
Yep being made in Belgium

Bulk in the new year. Need to knuckle down and get through this. Excellent work by the scientists really brilliant

I’ll whisper it quietly but one area the government has done well in was the early/pre acquisitions of various (6/7) vaccines. It put us in a decent place whoever succeeded in rolling out first.

Still hoping for the AZ/Oxford vaccine though as it will be a National/International game changer in respect of cost/storage/transportation

Didn't someone say they were supposed to be delivered to Walsgrave yesterday or have I imagined that? If they were due and aren't here hope it isn't a sign of logistical issues.

Looks like rollout starts next week. There will be central hubs that store it at places like Aintree, Leicester etc (all seem to be racecourses do they have big freezers?) local trusts will collect from the central hubs and administer before it gets too warm.

Brilliant work indeed, at the start of this it was being suggested we were talking years for a vaccine.

Hopefully people don't go mad at Xmas and we can keep the downward trend in cases going.

I genuinely think I wouldn't have survived another year of living with this. My physical and mental health are in the gutter right now.

Thank Science for brilliant Scientists.

Yeah my missus was told last week they were coming in on Monday. We’ve been self isolating all week so don’t know if they did or not.

UK able to speed up vaccine approval 'because of Brexit', claims health secretary
As he continues his morning broadcast round, Health Secretary Matt Hancock has claimed Brexit helped the UK become the first country in the world to have a clinically authorised vaccine.
He tells Times Radio: "Until earlier this year we were in the European Medicines Agency (EMA), because of Brexit we've been able to make a decision to do this based on the UK regulator, a world-class regulator, and not go at the pace of the Europeans, who are moving a little bit more slowly.
"We do all the same safety checks and the same processes, but we have been able to speed up how they're done because of Brexit."

there appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel at last, thank fuck.

My mind is spinning.....I'm already looking forward to the fantastic summer in store.....

Hopefully may even get to see a spot of live football right at the end of the season......I'll settle for missing 46 games but get access to the play-offs :)

.....I was also looking at my cancelled/postponed gig & festival tickets on the kitchen noticeboard this morning which may now actually happen (assuming the venues survive)..... I think its live music I've missed the most.

....Imagine watching the Euros this summer IN A PUB with no stupid rules.

....Taking my family on a blow-out foreign holiday

2021 is gonna be fucking ace......its gonna be the 3rd summer of love people........Just got to stay alive & afloat till then. RAVE ON!

Great news to wake up to this morning. I'm ecstatic, lets get this done and over.

It may help that I'm in tier 1 and am off to the pub tonight too.
