Another striker and a central defender in my opinion, although if we get Fleck and Kilbane I'll be delighted regardless.

Agreed

If the remaining transfer activity is...

IN's - Fleck, Kilbane, Nimely, CB
Outs - Keogh, RoD

I'd take that

2 CB's, 1 Attacking CM, 1 Striker. Then possibly another attacking winger on loan

To me Phillips can provide back up for Clarke till Christie comes back
When Keogh goes we will possibly need two centre halves. As Cameron is going to be rusty and prime to get injured again he needs easing back in. Wood should be a starter however he is injury prone so I would suggest two centre halves otherwise we could quickly end up with Willis and Henderson.

Urgently need Creativity in that centre of midfield

And need one more striker so it is not just kids putting pressure on eliiot and Cody. We still need that big target man

If Keogh and Bigi go for money

Rob Jones or Danny Gabbidon
Grant McCann or Brian Howard
Campbell Rice or LLoyd Sam
Beavon or Nimely
Steve Howard

LB, CB, DM, CM, ST. Assuming ROD, Deegan, Bigi and Keogh go, would leave us with:

Murphy/Dunn
Clarke/Christie/Philips
LB/Hussey
CB/Cameron
Wood/Willis/Henderson
DM/Thomas
CM/Bell
Kilbane/Baker
Fleck/McSheffrey
ST/ Jeffers
McDonald/Elliot

Hang on the only proper central midfielder we have who is over 18 years old is Deegan who is made of glass. We definitely need at least one semi experienced central midfield player, plus another 3/4 others - incluing a centre back, another striker.

We need a Creative/play maker in the centre of the pitch otherwise i don't see much Passing Football being played, when we had Norwood on loan the amount of times we got it to him and he could pick a perfect pass someone like him who will work his socks off , tackling and getting forward scoring goals and being creative in the middle

CB, CM, ST, Kilbane, Fleck

Bell and ROD can leave, anyone else who leaves needs to be replaced

We desperately need a new CM at the moment we only have Deegan, I think Fleck and Kilbane can play CM but I am not sure.

That would be the minimum for me, we could probably do with another CM and ST but not necessary (we can use the loan market if we get a few injuries)

Nearly there,
Sign the 2 centre backs when Keogh goes
A creative midfielder
Then another winger and a striker on loan

If that happens for the first time since fox and dann and Westwood I will say hats off to SISU.

It's been a long time coming and I believe it is due to the council saying no investment in the team no stadium.

I think it's to optimistic to think that many signings will happen. I think we will extremely lucky with 2 more, 1 more might even be pushing it!

Last season I felt although the football was better on the eye we didn't have the players to do dig in especially in midfield. I would personally go for someone like James Harper (Reading and Hull in recent years) who is proven at championship level and although now 31 could provide the strength in this role. Bit of an athlete and at 6ft would add some much needed height to our team of munchins.

Still no cover for left back and centre half is now looking a bit exposed. Paul Robinson ex West Brom has just been released by Bolton. Now 33 but could cover both these roles. Loves a 50/50 challenge and when keogh leaves we have no else in that mode in the starting 11. It could also give us an option to go 3 at the back if circumstances (injuries) arise -an ageing Pearce during Euro 96 comes to mind.

Both experienced enough to help the 'minors' through games as our senior pro's last year came short in this area.
