It should be if it's outdoor?

I posted the wording from the tier 3 guidelines up the other day.
Like most guidelines relating to covid, it's very ambiguous.

Edit - just had a text to say it's on

I'll be honest, I'm finding it a struggle with the early nights lately.

I live with my parents and I am currently working from home. I'm probably in my bedroom ninety percent of the time.

I used to do a little bit of running after-work but the cold weather and darkness (I mainly run in parks) put me right off.

I'm looking forward to when the gyms reopen just so that I can get out of the house in the week. I might ask work if I could go in the office.

I know it's wrong but I went round my friends house to watch the Norwich game on Saturday. I drank a several beers, saw my godchildren and eat a takeaway whilst we watched football and boxing. Was a brilliant way to end my week off work and I won't hesitate to do it again.

Didn't realise how much my anxiety spiked whilst the football season was on. Must learn to not let the losses hit me as much as they do, whilst basking in the wins when they come. Wouldn't have it any other way.

It's because there's so little else on to do. Aside from working the football's one of few distractions so you get more invested in them than otherwise.

Your right mate. Was playing a lot of football before the lockdown. Twice in the week, on a saturday and on a sunday so having nothing now is hard. Both leagues I play in have been postponed until the new year, at least the gym is open again now..

I'd love to get back playing but don't even know where to start when it eventually returns.

I’m the opposite, the return of sport and in particular football has made this lockdown so much better (still a nightmare but a better version). Anything to make life feel more normal

Feeling shite today. Had a crap day at work today, and went to play 5 a side tonight, got told we couldn’t play because we needed an FA affiliation number. So I got one and they told us because we didn’t have the exact players listed we couldn’t play. How is this tier 3 much different to lockdown. They’ve given us Gyms and Shops, but who wants to relax by going round a shopping centre at night.

I just find myself getting resentful of those in areas with fewer restrictions. Feels like additional punishment for following the rules

Just got back in from the first Monday night football back. Lost 3-1. Their team were a bunch of fucking horrible chavs. Fouling very badly all game and the ref did nothing.

Their worst offender tried to take me out at the end but I saw it coming and stood my ground. Then when I released the ball I kicked his legs out as he went passed me.

Final whistle blew and a brawl started. My team were basically pussies and it was me against about 3 of them. Almost got very ugly. None of them for all their aggression actually threw a punch though. Thought I might get intercepted in the car park but thankfully not.

Fucking cowardly cunts.

Really struggling with work at the moment. I know most people do not enjoy their job but I get absolutely no pleasure from it what so ever. Thinking about a potential change in career.

This does not help with my social anxiety stopping me playing five a side.

How did you find a way out? My main concern is having been out of the field for a number of years.

Did a Masters in a subject where there was a need basically. I’ve known people that just started applying but they generally tend to end up in education adjacent roles like exam boards or training.

I’d been out of tech for ten years when I decided to go back. I managed to get a few interviews but realised the field had moved on massively, don’t know how much that applies outside of software (my prior tech job was before smartphones existed).

If I were you I’d start applying and see what happens while looking at retraining opportunities. Look at graduate roles, that sort of thing. Maybe even reach out to companies and explain the situation, they might be willing to take you on and train you up while you work at a lower level, hard to say without knowing your industry really.

It's been a fairly mammoth task for me. I *think* my CV reads pretty well, Economics university graduate, current managerial position, advanced in CIMA studies fairly quickly, looking for a decentish company to build a finance career in from near enough the bottom, basically had nothing in return. Very demoralising. Only thing I can do is keep taking exams, keep applying and just hoping someone will take a chance with me. As the guy previously said, my job gives me little to zero mental stimulation, so although it pays the bills, it is a drag. I shouldn't moan as I am lucky to still be in employment given the current economic climate, but it doesn't take the mental pain away all the time.

Have you had any issues playing before?

Normally it is absolutely fine but this team were just disgusting. I just make the numbers up for a team which is from a church I think. They are really nice guys and it was horrible to watch them get bullied last night.

Of course when I stood up to them the opposition didn't like it. Typical bullies really.

Are you aiming too low for your qualifications?

Learned a lesson many years ago. I love interviews. The hardest part on getting a job is getting to the interview stage. I have only reached it once and not been offered a job. My gast was flabbered. I asked them why I wasn't offered the job. The reply was I was overqualified and would most probably leave as soon as another opportunity came along that was more suited to me. And of course they were right. It costs time and money to recruit and train someone.

And to what others have said..... make a list of what you want and what you don't want. For instance stress levels and pay. When I was younger I strive on pressure. Now I am older I love turning up for work, doing my job then going home. I don't think about work until I am at work. I don't take work home with me. This is very important.

Looking for a job you enjoy? Even porn stars get bored eventually. Many footballers stop giving their all. Whatever you do can get boring. You are very lucky if you have a job you enjoy and continue to enjoy for many years.

A big part for me is the people you work with. This is harder to choose.

I like my job. Haven't had a day off for a couple of years. Before that I hadn't had a day off for nearly 10 years. Do I love my job? No. I have learnt that it is a way of life. No stress. Turn up do my bit and go home. Switch off. If I thought about doing the same thing hour after hour, day after day, month after month and year after year it would get to me.

Retirement is my next target. 2 years, 3 months, 1 week and 1 day to go. Can't wait. My two youngest will be 13 and 14. My little boy will finally get to spend quality time with his dad. But it will have taken many years of switching off at work to keep my sanity. It isn't an easy thing to get used to doing.

Good luck everyone. I do know the challenges ahead. The unemployment rate was over 10% when I joined the job market. Try and keep hold of all the positives. And keep applying for jobs until you end up in one where you can go home relaxed that comes with decent pay. Your working life is a long one.

dont get me wong Dom, my performance wasn't the best haha. I think just having an outlet for all this pent up energy from the last month was class. Probably gonna end up going about 4 times a week, particularly whilst football is off.

Anyone else got the post christmas blues? The thought of going back to work is sickening. Just realising what my life is becoming now, working to get to the holidays or weekends. What a depressing way to live.

Returning to work after any break is crap, so you're definitely not alone there. I'm focussing on vaccine and staying off social media.

I've watched the Ted in the 'Do it badly' section of this article on the beeb and thought it was very good -

The emotions being contagious is in interesting one as I'm sure there's a correlation between state of mind and view of us winning...so might be an idea to just lurk the matchday threads if you are feeling low as there'll be people on there who won't know about this thread. That's for everyone.

Enjoy the win today all PUSB (y)

you're well being is more important than football mate. I'm sure once you get back into the routine you'll be fine.
I've no job to go back to so at least you can count yourself lucky in that regard!

Sorry to hear that mate. I am grateful for it I really am. It’s just been a difficult period for myself and close family. I know lockdown is tough for everyone.

no matter how tough it is for everyone else, you've got to live with your own experience and if you're struggling then you're struggling.
Great that you an reach out on here, fair play mate. We all bicker and argue but there's always someone who'll lend an ear.
