I don't know mate hard to score that... very average all over midfield, upfront may aswell have stayed home, Sam not his usual standard at all, dabo semi decent match... CB 3 best players on pitch.

Osti pips MOTM from his counterparts

What a truly dreadful game. At least we didn't concede and didn't lose but otherwise very forgettable (hopefully)

Wilson 7 ( no saves to make. Distribution good and used area when needed)
Dabo 7 (some good solid defending but not able to impact going forward)
McCallum 6 (after an awful first half where he couldn't pass to a teammate he was much improved in the second and put in 3 decent crosses)
Ostigard 9 (motm. an absolute rock. Looked more comfortable bringing the ball out of defence)
McFadzean 8 (good positioning defensively and dominated. One sloppy pass put team under pressure, which he quickly apologised for)
Hyam 9 (another assured performance)
Kelly 6 (really poor use of the ball today but made some important inceptions including a great, maybe somewhat lucky, header)
Hamer 7 (inconsistent throughout. Ducked one challenge turning his back but did some good work off the ball and deliveries always likely to cause problems)
O'Hare 6 (can never fault his work-rate but apart from nice reverse pass for Walker chance, didn't create anything)
Biamou 6 (one decent header but not able to win the physical battles. Not helped by very little service. Chased back well on occasions to help out the team)
Walker 6 (again poor service limited impact but should have hit his chance across the keeper with Biamou unmarked for a tap in)

Yep Ostigard was great tonight. He seems ‘proper hard’ too. Wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of him. Like a skilful, mobile Mo Konjic.

Wilson - 6 Nothing to do. Doesn’t make me comfortable but I like how he claims the ball and decent long kicks.
Østigård - 7 Our biggest threat at set pieces, solid at the back and brought the ball out well.
McFadzean - 6 Solid
Hyam - 6 Solid
Dabo - 6 Didnt get forward enough.
McCallum - 5 Poor first half. Better second but should’ve come off for Giles
Kelly - 6 Poor on the ball but a couple of vital interceptions in the box.
Hamer - 7 subdued and too deep for my liking but quality deliveries and good forward balls.
O’Hare - 6 A few poor decisions in the final third, still provided something others on the bench couldn’t.
Biamou - 6 Worked hard but not enough quality or physicality
Walker - 6 Feeding off scraps again. At least got our only decent chance.

Shipley - 5 Didnt notice him do anything
Baka - N/A not on long enough

Felt we went long too easily today and didn’t have the quality to make it stick. When we worked it forward with the wingbacks high up the pitch we looked dangerous.

I agree with most of the ratings about so not going to repeat it. I actually thought thay Luton got their game plan spot on, pressed us high and quickly cut off the pass inside and made us go long, but their centre backs were beasts and won everything.

Osti looked really good last night. Promising from him.

Walker should have gone across goal, rebound may have fallen for max.

Defence solid apart from a 2 min blip where they kept getting in behind Sam and hyam.

Our lack of squad options is now the big concern. Allen on form rightly ignored, meaning Shipley by default comes on and his form is equally poor. I don't think he touched the ball last night.

MR doesn't rate baka enough to change a game otherwise he'd give him longer than 3 mins.

If this is the incident I think it is, he didn't duck the tackle. He was trying to spin it 180 to the right, taking the ball with him but it got caught under his feet.

Yeah you could be right there. However he would have been better to block tackled. It is an area of his game he can improve on. That being said he is an awesome acquisition.

I would have put Allen on ahead of Shipley. He isn't as good as O'Hare but they are similar, which is why it doesn't work playing them both. At least with Allen he will be busy and close down the opposition. This is not Shipley's forte. I would also like to see Bapaga back on the bench as an option. At least he provides something different, especially whilst Jobello is not match fit.

Now we’re playing two up I’d like to see Bapaga given some minutes in his proper position alongside Max.

Watched in the FAYC game Sat morning and despite only playing against U18's he was hardly standout. Couple of decent runs but on the whole seemed pretty quiet and ineffectual. Got a lot more developing to do and much to learn before he's ready to make an impression in the Championship IMO.

Perhaps, but you wonder if he plays full pelt for the u18s now he's in and around the first team

I'm not sure. If he'd been successful it could have lead to a counter-attack with them outnumbered.

I don't think that's the case but it'd be a question mark against him if it was wouldn't it? if you're not willing to give it all in your age group when you're still technically a second year academy scholar at a Cat 2 Championship team playing against a Cat 1 PL team you'd have to question the mentality.

I watched that game as well and to be honest we were up against it most of the match.Southamptons movement, passing and pace
was impressive our defence including goalkeeper performed well but midfield couldn't cope so Bapaga and Nee weren't getting
the service.I also watched some highlights of Southampton previous games and they were well beaten by Spurs u18's 7-0.
