Think how crap our players are when they leave.

Dann
Fox
Westwood
Gunnar

All rubbish when they left us according to some fans.

Glad to see we have added some pace to te team with Fleck and Elliott signing.

We still need a prolific goalscorer, a CM and 2 centre backs.

Im not sure fleck has much pace? from what I have seen and heard he is a creative force rather than an out and out winger?

Age is still on his side and if he rediscovers his early promise we'll have a cracking player on our hands.

The few YouTube vids I have seen he seems pacey.

Although accordingtl rangers he has got fat so maybe not as pacey these days! Lol

Ah, but McPake was better than Dann, decent Championship keepers are ten a penny, and Baker is a brilliant signing.

Not missed at all.

Was that relevant in the slightest? Thought it was the player we needed to agree terms with, not Rangers?!?

I think beacuse they are claiming the players have to transfer to Newco, we have given some form of compensation to stop further legals.........SISU showing sense in business at last shock-horror

Or even SISU paying out money they don't have to a company that they don't need to pay. Newco are not Rangers, I'm sure i read last week that the players have no legal obligation to transfer as the company that they are employed by has been Liquidated.

'Coventry City Football Club wishes to state that, contrary to widespread media reports and indeed from Rangers Football Club, that the club will not be signing John Fleck. The club is keen at this point to emphasise that such a move would signify ambition which at this stage in proceedings is not acceptable to the board.' ;)

Wowsers........ it's like I can read into the future.

On Rangers offal!!!!!

AN inaccurate media report this morning suggests the Club is taking legal action against John Fleck over his move to Coventry City.

Both clubs have in fact reached agreement for the transfer of the player and Coventry have recognised Rangers rights as part of the process.A formal announcement will be made later today.

The impression I get is that those clubs who have signed players from rangers might gave a long winded fight to prove they don't owe money as compensation and I don't know if those players will be given international clearance until such time? It does actually seem to me (this is going to be very strange to say) that SISU are actually being sensible!

Tend to agree, but if the offer were, say, 20% of any sell on fee that would be potentially some profit lost later (assuming the lad plays well for us) rather than the cost of a possible legal fight now - which we clearly can't afford.

All other players leaving rangers are free transfers so I would imagine we wouldn't offer any sort of deal. There is no rangers, he doesn't play for newco so he is fair game.
This being said a few Blackpool fans I know say he isn't great but we are a division lower now!

My company got bought out and my contract was moved to the new company, which is fair enough, but as Rangers went in to the Liquidiser does this mean all the players became unemployed before Newco bought the assets of Rangers?

As I said, I agree he is fair game and I said yesterday my personal opinion is Green's legal threats will ultimately fail, but the Rangers site says: "Both clubs have in fact reached agreement for the transfer of the player and Coventry have recognised Rangers rights as part of the process." As others noted, this suggests some kind of arrangement has been reached to avoid any legal complications.

Have you got a link for that mate?

Agree, you cant knock the approach. The club wouldve taken legal advice and if theres uncertainty its sensible to reach an agreement. What happens if its found further down the line that that Fleck did transfer over to the NewCo, which in my view would happen with any ordinary employee (contracted players may be different though) and a tribunal found us to be liable for several £'000's which we cant afford.

We can all knock SISU for numerous things but this appears to be a decent approach to things.
