We are doing okay but need to tighten up at the back. Game seems very open.

That pitch is not helping, but we are trying to play further up the pitch. Wish Sam McC wouldn't take his throw ins back towards Dom Hyam on this pitch. Play it forward, as their lumps don't look comfortable on the floor. Still take a point (unless we go one up!)

Really enjoying this performance. Reminds me of last year's style and we look all the better for it. Having Godden and Hamer back makes such a big difference in terms of confidence. Allen looks very decent now after a slow start in the Champ. Osti - new cult hero - both in defence and attack.
Hyam a couple of mistakes.
Would love to see Giles get 45 minutes, not that McCallum has done anything wrong - just want us to attack Stoke on both flanks.

Very good half. Stoke packing the midfield without too much effect, while getting slightly more possesion. Not too muchh threat from them. We can't afford to let them in by gifting a chance. We look decisive and capable of scoring. Stoke getting more nervy at the back as the game progresses. Sheaf,Allen and Hamer outstanding at the moment. If we have a weak link its O'Hare again who can't hold onto a ball or gives it away too easily. but he wins many free kicks and eventually one of his reverse passes will produce for us.
A good game that could go either way. What's pleasing is we are more than competitive.

We are doing ok, keeping the ball better today.

He was widely considered to be Birminghams best player in the latter part of last season.

He did ok for a few games, having been dropped earlier in the season after a catalogue of howlers. Fact is they chose to release him & start the season with only youth team goalkeepers before signing Etheridge. Hardly a glowing endorsement.

Giles more likely to come on for either Allen or Ohare than Sam.

It look like its gonna be a glaring mistake or an outstanding bit of quality that decides this. Stating the bleeding obvious I am. Lol

You think they'd have released him if Wilson was next in line?

We’ve done ok. Competitive enough - Stoke have had the best chances and if they got ahead they’d probably win - both sides attempts to pass out the back is a potential goal for the other team - neither look comfortable

They released him with only a youth team keeper remaining so yes. Must have missed the handful of Championship teams falling over themselves to sign him too.

Agree with this Pax. What's equally pleasing is that we are reverting to our strengths of last season of passing and possession football - shows renewed confidence in our ability to compete at this level.

Glad Allen is playing well, always been a fan but felt he’s been underwhelming this year, so really pleased he’s turning it around. Always felt he’s one of of our strongest technical players.

Also pleased Sheaf is being recognised more, he can be completely out of games (which is the frustrating aspect) but when he’s in, he’s influential. It’s not all about Hollywood and killer balls (like Hamer), it’s just as important to recycle and retain the ball. Passing sideways is ok, plus he has the vision when required. As his match sharpness improves so does his standing in games.

Optimistic we have another gear and gang will win us the game. Would like to see Giles at some point and if we need to push for the winner either Bapaga/Hillsner (wild cards) at 10 alongside Allen or Biamou alongside Godden.
