No asymptomatic patients in that study?

Ah sorry of course. Though how can you have ongoing symptoms and be asymptomatic?

But yeah, that’s moderate to severe COVID not mild COVID. My mistake.

Found this for asymptomatic people, suggests similar numbers though obviously not as severe consequences. Lung damage is never good but I imagine there’s had a fag once and forty a day for decades levels.

Less to do with health effects and more transmission, this came out a few days ago

Written by someone who was in independent SAGE, it argues why mass testing of everyone in a case area is a waste of testing resources and time in the absence of hard evidence over asymptomatic transmission. It also explains quite clearly the limitations of the PCR test versus a viral culture test (no TikTok videos by the way).

There's always the random that nobody knows who they are, the brides cousins ex boyfriend baby daddy.

To be fair they are usually the ones who are still up at 5am chatting shit with a kebab with you when everybody else has gone.

Like Alan from the Hangover.

Just read an article from a doctor stating that we won't have normality for another year. Her reasoning being it will take 50 weeks to vaccinate 50 million people.

However, correct me if im talking shit, but surely we dont need to vaccinate anywhere near the whole population before we can attempt normality? You would have thought that as long as the elderly, vulnerable, asthmatics etc have been immunised, that will stop the deaths and hospitalisations?

And thats the whole point isnt it? We're stuck with the virus its now endemic. We just need to make sure the vulnerable are vaccinated while the rest of us either do or dont have it? 🤷‍♂️

The vaccine isn't 100%, and it's not clear if it stops you contracting it, or just makes you asymptomatic.

So, you need enough to reach that heard immunity, which means people beyond those groups too.

Plus, there's growing evidence of long term damage in people regardless, so you want to stop that, to keep a healthy workforce, for maximum economic benefit in years to come, and less needing costly treatment / aid.

I’m sure I read about something being trialled that was for people who haven’t been vaccinated but have caught Covid that essentially stops all symptoms.

Edit: This. Bit different to what I’ve said above.

Massive unless I’m misinterpreting what they are saying. But it’s not being talked about anywhere.
