Well there's a headline.

Is it asking too much to ask government to learn from last time, and not dither, fuck it up, even more so when we're so close to a resolution?!?

Yes. Like most things with this government it's driven by a combination of political ideology and incompetence.

Practicality and effectiveness don't come into it.

I'm going to be fucked, no childcare.

Fed up of going on social media and seeing cunts say "Stay indoors, stay warm and watch Netflix" like it's a fucking cosy bank holiday every day.

Alot of teachers pov is that they are teavhers not babysitters. Shpild lives ve at risks to help parents at home?

As a trainee I don't really feel par for either camp yet but I defintley see their point

Wouldn't they be out of a job if all parents gave up work to teach their kids?

It's not really childcare,

Didn’t know you could teach every subject to GCSE standard
Not for a moment suggesting that its a viable option but home schooling is a thing even when we're not in a pandemic isn't it?

What do they do about getting kids through exams, surely you can't just decide your kids aren't following the national framework and won't learn the usual curriculum & take exams.

Im talking purely during a pandemic

Most jobs are WFH now so majority can monitor kids at home possibly. Would double duty be worth it to save lives?

Maybe teachers should still work. May be employers should grant time off to employees who need to care for children. Maybe govt should assist. Not ideal to say the least

Considering lockdown etc fully online lessons would seem safest way and just keywords kids coming into building.

But the kids don't learn that way very well as they just bin off the work. Schools and parents need to be stricter on making kids actually do work from home

It is. Same argument applies for everything though - if everybody becomes a crack welder and metal fabricator, we don't need car manufacturers and body repair shops, everybody becomes highly skilled at making their own soap, cooking their own Big Macs from cows grown on their own pastures...

Home schooling isn’t a thing at all for most. Why have teachers at all if that’s the case

I have to come to work.

If my boss lets me have weeks off if my child isn't at school then it means me using up holiday or being unpaid. Who then does my work while I am not working? Will my boss then need to hire more staff to cover for those with kids?

I have no issue with doing homework and helping her with that in the evenings and weekends.

I'm not sure where this national brainwashing has occurred but it is starting to grate a little.....

Most white collar desk jockey jobs are indeed WFH....but many millions of us have to go places and do things to earn.

Ps. Well done cc4life....often seen you bitch about the youth and the current state of society today.....so fair play for getting involved and re-training.

It's given me a different view of it all thata for sure

I still feel like society is crumbling though! Some of these kids are rude and have no manners and then when you go to their parents for help you realise they are the scumbag that messed their kida up!

The nice kids make it good though and want to help them achieve all they can

Truth be told though halfway through and I am not 100% sure if I should stick it out or not. It's alot of hassle getting things ready for next day. I now see what teachers moan about all time lol

I will say I have put off the temptation of opening up a thread on here dedicated to translating covcity4lifeisms into English.

My advice is just help ya kid as much as u can but also tell them tonrespect their teachers as they are there to help. Good formula

That said some teachers are knobs cant even have a laugh with kids. No wonder it becomes us agaisnt them lol

You tell tell straight away who the c**t kids are with dickhead parents within 5 seconds of turning up to pick my lad up from school.

And I’m from a council estate myself so I’ll say it. (Brought up properly with respect though) It’s the jardine crescent tramps without fail sneaking over to mount nod. Smoking in the queue ignoring their second and third kid and generally being loud swearing nuisances. The kids have got no chance.

It starts way before secondary school, you should hear some of the stories my wife tells me, it would make your toe's curl.

My daughter knows, if she disrespects a teacher she is in trouble.

It's the parents who would then act like their kids are angels and deny it rather than tell their kids off.
