That’s what I’m wondering. Has he decided to leave Sheaf, not sure I want to go into next season with two perennial crocks in n their late 20s at DM no matter how good they are.

Absolutely agree. I think Sheaf is worth persisting with if I’m honest, can see coming on leaps and bounds in the next 12-18 months. Also likely to be a player we can hold onto for a sustained period. Like you, I’m not knocking this signing, just can’t quite fathom it.

750k would cover his wages for a year right?

Not a clue. What are you getting at there?

You think it's possible he may not be sold on sheaf, the fee for sheaf is 750k and if we were to sign somebody like matty James I can't see us offering over a year initially with his injury history

Great signing, will help us be quicker and slicker in midfield which we will need if we play 1 up top.

Let's be honest he's twice the player he was now than he was 10 games ago, apart from the one mishap with him and Hyam at Preston he hasn't done anything wrong.

I don’t get the concern, We’re not limited to 1 signing. I’m confident Robins has plans for attacking lined up.

he has the trust of SISU and they’ve clearly released some funds. As far as I’m concerned the more players in the better.

James will come in alongside sheaf, and we’ll sign a striker

I get your drift but that’s not the club’s style. We’d look to use that money to get an asset that’s going to give us a return on investment. Sinking that much money into a 1-year deal for someone with a questionable injury record would be on par with 2002-2005 levels of stupid.

Hes clearly taken time to adapt to the level and the speed of the game, but he’s showing definite improvement week on week IMO.

It’s more the assumption we’re skint so any attacking signing would be a loan and we are limited on loans.

Unless we’re wrong and we’ve got cash for players and we’re signing a forward for real money and oh my gosh I’ve cum in my pants.

I think the model will alter slightly now, club will try and balance age and experience with the cost benefits of staying in the league... 16 mill plus over 2 seasons in the championship over bringing in really young lads who may or may not be a hit..

Ofcourse we will still do this, but I cant see it being the only way we work now going forward... The financial benefit of staying in this league is too great.

The club should assess this James lad come May, see how his fitness is and if there's a chance and he's played well... Why not offer a contract if he's free

Your constant need to bring a discussion back to slagging off sheaf, we get that you don't like a classy CDM but there is no need to keep on about it when you've been proven so wrong so many times
Who proved me wrong mate? You're talking dribble

We've just had 2 posters who like sheaf admit there's a possibility that's in Robins thinking? Laugh at that... My response was about a potential shifting of finances

Absolutely nothing to laugh about and perfectly logical thinking should such a scenario arise

Oh dear 😂

Also James and sheaf are very different players by all accounts, I'd wager than if Kelly wasn't made out of glass we wouldn't have signed James at all but that role is so integral to the way we play we need someone there

Barnsley fans seemed a bit pissed about it, which is a good sign.

Normal thread
moan about Sheaf
End up looking like you don't know what you're talking about
have a paddy and say you don't want to talk about it any more
bring up sheaf in next thread

It's fucking boring.
Oh shut the fuck up will ya... It was a perfectly logical response to the potential shifting of finances should Robins not fancy the signing come May, which was what a couple of other posters were hinting at .. Perfectly logical response you melt

You forgot your emojis.
You are one of the most clueless posters here in regards to football, consistently wrong on all fronts... I wouldn't talk to much

I'd happily spend a day quoting the shite you spew just to make you look stupid 🤐

You tied yourself up in knots and then got proven wrong about the pass stats for a start

We are all wrong at times and all don't like players for numerous reasons but you don't need to bring him up when it's not relevant like in the signing of a player that is nothing like him

My reading of the situation is that we wanted the 3 deeper midfielders for rotation - Hamer, Kelly and Sheaf. Now we've lost one of this for the majority of the remainder of the season James has been brought in to cover that loss.

Read through, what's had to be said on sheaf has been said... I cant be arsed writing it all out again.. Clue... Nobody proved anything other than he can complete a pass

And like I said, I'm normally very fair with players, there is something about sheaf that I'm not entirely sold on... That's perfectly normal

But we’re not skint. We’ve had a huge increase income which wouldn’t have been budgeted at the start of last season.

can we compete with the top clubs at this level? No. but this loan (if we’re paying him the full 19k) is around 300k - that’s 3 appearances on the tv.

we receive a few more million in solidarity payment for academy.

We received more money for Wilson, we’re not awash with cash but we won’t be scrabbling around... if we were in League one I’d agree but there’s a lot more money washing around at this level

We’re probably lucky we don’t own our ground in the currently climate, as we’ll be paying a flat rent. The rest is up to Birmingham

The jury is still out in him at this level that’s for sure

We've signed a player and yet some on here are intent on squabbling about having different opinions. Doesn't matter; smoke a pipe of peace and relax.
