I mentioned them because people are barking on about white privilege and race. If you want to discuss that then I am happy to in another thread, but I don't think this is anything to do with it. The reason why it is different because we are talking about nationwide protests versus a infiltration of one building. All the reports of 'well only 50 people we arrested that must be racist' are nonsense, because the scale of the two things cannot be compared. It pisses me off because race is the first go to for certain people. It's like the fucking Slade alarm again, but on a bigger scale. Some people get all excited when they can drive a wedge in.

Also, if you read what I had been saying, I have not once tried to deflect anything. I have said what happened yesterday is not acceptable at all and a disgrace, so is any political violence which has taken place by either 'side of the argument'. As with racism, there needs to be an absolute zero tolerance on any kind of violence for political reasons. It is literally the definition of terrorism and it is not acceptable.

Agreed. I was listening to 5 Live this morning and they had some Republican on the radio who started banging on about Antifa and BLM trying to deflect. Its ridiculous and wrong and they rightly got called out for it.

Yup, it's an attempt to demonise BLM. Trump himself does that with differing attitudes and behaviuours dependent on the overwhelming ideologies of groups, certain of his supporters are determined to place the ah but BLM in there.

When basically, Trump is an insane, dangerous bigot who needs to be removed, and the extremists need to be punished. That's all.

He has been a diehard Trump loyalist up until now but his master has cut him loose and called him a traitor with days to go until he becomes a political irrelevance.

Zero tolerance for violence?
While police over there have shot unarmed black men and women they took Dylan roof for a burger king and treated that incel mass shooter with kid gloves.
Why is that?

Do you honestly think if at the BLM protest in the same location they had stormed the Capital Buildings the result would have been the same? Would the police have been opening gates for them and posing for selfies?

At the BLM protests in the same location peaceful protesters, not to mention journalists, were being shot with rubber bullets and tear gassed. The national guard were there in huge numbers in full riot gear but last night were nowhere to be seen.

So I guess the plan for a last minute resignation and Pence then to pardon the Trump clan is pretty much dead in the water :)

There were protests, there were road blocks, but I can't remember any buildings being set on fire and I certainly don't remember any protestors being armed or any one being killed.

Any more disingenuous whatabouttery?

The people who burnt buildings and looted at BLM protest/riots were wrong and opportunist. Why were they there though? Because they have a massive racist as president who enabled the unlawful killings of black people. Trump and his racist followers are the problem in society.
