Looks it was both - kind of makes it worse, no?!

I can see both sides of the argument. Unfortunately, one of them is stupid.

Some people protesting to save their own and other peoples lives, is in no way comparable to racists entering Capitol Hill because they weren't happy with the election result. They are definitely, unfortunately, related subjects.

And, funnily enough, the root cause is the same in both cases.

Tell you what, if my president favoured dubious ultra-right groups who wanted to thwart the democratic process, called them patriots and made excuses for anybody who showed the slightest signs of oppressing minorities and demonising them, whilst denouncing their slightest moves...

I'd be tempted to riot.

I am tempted to and I know that I’ll get treated more respectfully because I am white

45% of registered Republicans support yesterday's actions in a YouGov poll today. Law & Order Party :)
I suppose that's less than 25% of the voting electorate. Hopefully enough are repulsed by this to turn away from the Republican party en masse until it disowns Trump, and his enablers.

Can but dream...!

How about the President favouring and condoning one side, while demonising another? Can't see how that might just, might just agitate and divide...?

Of course you fucking can't. or won't.

Yes, I can absolutely can. It is part of the reason there is such a divide.

This forum is hilarious, so one sided that people in the middle get confused as the enemy.

I don’t see you as an enemy. We have to be able to discuss differences of opinion. We have to allow ourselves space to think and rethink and mould our thoughts with others with different experiences

like those new right wing tv channels now saying pictures prove antifa were in the building. No it was pictures from an antifa website that had previously identified the 2 people concerned as right-wing extremists. Those 2 extremists were the ones then pictured inside Congress yesterday

That's the problem now. You have to wait for something bad like yesterday to happen before you can even start to get to the truth because up until that point genuine criticisms were just dismissed.

When the launch this GB TV it's going to be even worse

Washington was up in flames last year, everybody pretty much said naff all about it... Truth be told people are Completely brainwashed in their own views both left and right they can't have a balanced discussions on almost anything.

I've seen some astonishing posts on twitter today from both left and right wing that it's best to just sit back watch the TV and think nothing

Trump should step down with immediate effect though, have his twitter banned and allow a peaceful transition where possible, the behaviour since the election result is completely unacceptable

You think you're in the middle?!

I don't think someone on our football teams message board is an "enemy" if that helps you feel better (genuinely).

Did you see as well they were trying to say one of them had a ‘communist’ tattoo, for it to emerge that in fact it was a tattoo popularised in a computer game (the ‘outsiders’ tattoo from the game Dishonoured if you are interested)

And that's what unique about this. It's been instigated by the POTUS.
It's quite incredible.

I mean, for me personally I don't want or need a balanced discussion on racists. That ok?
Yea that's cool, it seems we are also talking about the protests, the people there, and the people dying... I'm not sure all of the people there are racists... I'm assuming you mean trump or the few melts there parading far right emblems or clothing... There's more to discuss than just the racists... As you already know

I alluded to the steps that should be taken in regards to that... He needs to go now, be forced out and banned from social media

A peaceful transition is needed

His behaviour since the result has been shambolic

Racist, knowingly support a racist? Whatever, same barrel of shit as far as I'm concerned.

Many are ordinary people just tangled in a Web of misinformation and anger... Education and social influences play a role here... Not all there are racist, they aren't all the same

Knowingly support a racist.

None of those excuses are enough for me I'm afraid.
