Anyone with an eye knew zain wasn't championship quality. He didn't even make our team the last 2 months.

Unfortunately it's the same for baka.

And after the season if we secure our status Allen, Shipley on their season thus far won't be far behind
I don't like to publicly down players but those named all have played their part but will be no help if we want to look up not down.

Looks like a few clubs are interested
I heard he was talking to a team in London
Last chance saloon for him does he still hold out hope of representing the Netherlands read an article along those lines last season

To be honest, taking up Baka's contract extension made some sense to me at the time, assuming he wasn't costing too much. His 2 year contract expired on 7th August last year, and we hadn't signed Walker at that stage, he was signed on 29th August.
We could have started the season with only Godden who had been struggling with groin injuries during last season, and Biamou who looked to be on his way out at that time if I remember correctly.

This whole thread has just highlighted what a strange signing he was in the first place but also how we haven't got the best out of strikers in my opinion. Ultimately Clarke Harris got pushed out and obviously he's done brilliantly since he left. Bakayoko I would still put in the potential category although he doesn't seem to have any great instinct as a striker. Always remember the Walsall fans saying he isn't a target man and isn't a lone striker. Nearly every time he's played for us he has been in this role. Be interested to see how he gets on with a regular run of games in a partnership at League 1 level.

I can’t see us spending money (which I totally understand) Baka leaving would free up wages I guess, but we might have already spent that bringing in the Brighton lad

We are signing thats Scottish left back for money... and he just signed a new contract. Who knows but there are okey y of players out of contract in the summer and some clubs will just take a small fee now to know they’ve got something...

We can’t be signing him for money ? Most on here said we won’t be signing anymore for money 🙃

Can somebody make a video of all of Bakayoko’ very rare finest moments? Make him look like a half decent player so we can get him out quicker lol

Absolutely no need, Doncaster are signing him based on the equaliser he scored against them last season.

Sky Blues boss says Amadou Bakayoko not leaving

I know how most will see it but really this is good news.

Looks like Robins felt he had to shift him to free up funds but doesn't need to any longer so will keep him as backup until Godden & Walker are fit.

Possibly those two Sky games have made the difference

I agree, we can't afford to be without back-ups/options.

I'm happy but there only seems to be much point in keeping him if you are going to try to give him a few minutes in games personally.

If Max is badly injured would rather Baka played and Max does not do himself any serious damage especially given his age and previous injury history. He is necessary to keep as a back up option currently anyway given strikers that are injured.

It'd only happen if we had someone else coming in to replace him, and even then they'd be a low-cost punt from lower/non-league.
