No I'm saying that I'm reserving judgement until I've seen him play not that he is an uninspiring signing

Personally I'm all for signings like this as we have had some good success with them in recent years
That's what I asked... I said hyam, somebody said McCallum. There's been many Charlie Wakefields and allesannis

I dont think we've been that successful bringing in older teens for development and getting them into 1st team football over the last 5 years... Jodi Jones, hyam and McCallum... Not much else though

Where do people put this new lad ?

Ahead of Bapaga who’s 18 ?

New lads 20 surely he should be ahead of bapaga ?

It's development. The fee will be nominal. Remember the days well when most of us would've said Callum Wilson wouldn't be a league player at a similar age.
Was just about to post similar, Wilson was 20 when he started kicking on wasn't he

Only on here could there be an argument about some kid signed for peanuts to go in the under 23s.

You can add Westbrooke as well and Drysdale has at least made it to the fringes of the team.

It's always a risk but we have had reasonable success and no worse than bringing through young players that have been here for years over the last few seasons.

Different position I think.

Yes, if I am correct, Callum Wilson went on loan to Kettering town, and then Tamworth at that age, and came back age 20 with the grand total of 20 appearances, scoring 2 goals.

Yep, made this point earlier. Probably ahead of where Callum Wilson was at the same age in terms of league football experience. Let's see how he gets on.

Let's just put him in the bomb squad already then

Jesus fucking Christ, are all fan bases as negative as ours or do we just have a special breed in sky blue
tbf, if we can get excited because of some carefully edited together 'highlights', we can be apathetic because fans of previous clubs aren't self-immolating because he's going.

He may be fine but seriously why is it even worth talking about - there is a 90% chance he will never even feature in the first team

It’s Martin Lane mark 2

Shmmeee thought that James was a weird signing so makes sense this confuses him too

James less weird now Györkeres is here and we’re playing 433. Though still keeping Sheaf out, weird from a squad building perspective.

This is a guy who hasn’t managed to break into the Rochdale side and by all accounts has looked pretty poor when he’s been on and is the wrong side of 20. It’s weird from a development signing perspective.

Surely we give him a chance before any apathy sets in, I mean I'd understand it if we had paid a mil but it's likely to be a very small fee for a developmental player not someone who is expected to fire us away from relagation

Sorry if I've missunder stood but do you mean weird keeping sheaf out of the side?

What's wrong with being underwhelmed, not seeing why he's been signed, but hoping he'll be a pleasant surprise?

If we're going to have to group-cum over every signing, we'll have nothing to talk about!

Why did we sign him we should have gone for someone proven like Gnanduillet or Grigg. Damn the club signing players for cheap who are young and unknown. Every signing must be ready made for the first team. Regardless of what they cost

It’s pathetic and frankly it’s about time we campaigned to get this idiots who own the club gone

I can say that the signing doesn't inspire me at all... Which is basically what I've said.

I'm not sure anyone is saying it inspires them in the slightest.

The Rochdale fan described a goal that this fella scored. Similar to one of Bakas freak goals a couple of seasons ago.
