How good was his passing tonight?

I think with him and osti in the middle we should be more than ok
His passing is the best we have from the defence the goal Marosi really should be coming for that cross we need a keeper next year who can command the box...once rose settled down he was good for me he starts Saturday

He scored an own goal, Pete... Thus making anything after, however positive, null & void. In fact, he should have been hung, drawn & quartered there & then.

Joking aside, he's had a nightmare season with fitness... Putting him on at half time without no football played was always going to be tough. So, on the whole, he came out well.

It took him 8 minutes to settle, the pass from the kick off and being in the situation for the own goal didnt hurt him, really got into it and did well! linked up well with James and Da Costa!

His passing will benefit DaCosta massively

I'll ignore the own goal as there wasn't really much else he could have done to stop it. He did well, a few more games to get fitness back up then he'll be the Rose we all know and love.

His body position poor for the goal but that will clearly be down to a lack of match practice and also think Marosi should have came and punched it. Was so impressed with his passing. He’s such a better footballer than Hyam

Any keeper who commands their box comes for that no ? The Forest keeper for example takes that ball in

That dude plows through players to do it too. Remember the one on Walker in the first game he got away with?

I put the own goal down as 70% Marosi's fault and 30% Rose's fault.

Even that might be being a little harsh on Rose.

Rose's distribution made a huge difference and Robins described it as 'magnificent' in his interview.

I think Robins went into the season planning on Rose/Osti/Hyam as his first choice back three.

Nice to see him back and feel for him and the team tonight as in the second half they didn't get close after the own goal. We move on to Watford.

Not sure about that.

He was next to the goal and tried to take it on his right foot. Hook it away with your left foot or head it.

His passing is never in doubt, was brilliant.

He didnt have to defend much after his howler though.

True test of him and Da Costa is when they have to defend. No doubting abilty to go forward.

Just seen the highlights, he got himself awfully tangled up for the own goal , just smacks of a player coming back to fitness.

same can be said for Marosi, absolute no mans land. A combination of two players who haven’t played any football for a long time.

Problem is Marosi started to go for it then retreated.

Ideally he should go for it (but we know he gets rooted to his line a lot). If he's not going to go for it, then he needs to stay there. Not start to go and then change his mind.

Rose did not have enough time from Marosi changing his mind to the ball reaching him.

Let’s not forget it was a quality cross enough deceit on it to compromise both Marosi and Rose. Rose couldn’t just leave it as there was a Forest player just behind him and in Morosis’ defence I thought there was enough bend on the cross for him to leave it for his defender

Rose’s body shape was wrong. Don’t care if Marosi should have come for it, Rose has to anticipate that happening and open his body up to the pitch. It’ll absolutely be because he was rusty but it’s basic.

Edit: fee like I’ve gone too heavy on him there, so I should say his passing was phenomenal for the most part.

Really don't get the Marosi blame for the goal, it was a great burst and cross for Christie. I doubt many keepers would come for it. Marosi started to which might be why Rose couldn't adjust his footing

Wouldnt have mattered who the defender was. The cross was perfectly between defender and keeper with an attacker behind him. If he didnt play it it was a goal, if he did play it it was a goal. Not sure what people expected him to do running towards his own goal? "Opening his body up" as has been suggested wouldve made zero difference because of the position of the ball, it was a goal from the minute it left christies boot. Thought he was great for someone with so little minutes.

I disagree with that. I think most defenders would have looked to clear it with their head, and done so quite comfortably. I think if Rose wasn't rusty that's what he would have ordinarily done too. Unfortunately for us this happened when he was still finding his feet playing again. The one positive is that the 45 minutes under Rose's belt in that match will be worth countless games in the under 23's, and we can hopefully look forward to him playing an important part for us from hereon.

I'm a big Rose fan, he's not been fit all season unfortunately which isn't ideal when you're attempting to ready yourself for playing at the highest level you've ever played. I'm sure he'll come good at this level but he needs more minutes on the pitch and to avoid injury for a while.

I'm not sure how he could open his body up when running backwards.

He should have headed it back to where it came from or over the bar.

But for me the blame is on Marosi. Either go for it or don't go for it. To change your mind halfway is suicidal.

Yep thought he could have headed it but he expected marosi to push it away

It was a really good ball in which resulted in the classic make it hard for defenders - edge of 6 yard box facing own goal being forced to play ball because attackers coming in behind. I think Rose is unfortunate there especially with lack of minutes and games. Did what he had to do after that and just get on with it - which is all you can ask.

I am more annoyed with the first goal. Pask all over the place allowing them to get easy ball in. But how was Grabban just left to wander into the box and pick his spot. Given acres of space and players trotting back not reacting to what is in front off them. He may not be your man but get on him, spoil it!
