Biamou - new contract (2 Viewers)

I very much doubt Biamou is on anything like 4k. It's not really a particularly hot take.

I would Biamou is closer to 4k then 1k (more likely 2.5-3k). I'm basing it on an initial average L2 wage, 2 promotion wage rises, new contract while in L1 (rise) and 3 yearly incremental wage rises. Jones wage rises would follow a similar path imo.

Truth is we're never going to know what they earn, we have 2 solid forwards for this league in Godden & Walker (both will get 10-12 if fit), if we are to progress we need to start letting the likes of Biamou go.

Saw this earlier in the season... seems about right. Totals around £4.1m a year

Has he earnt a new contract. Ability wise at this level he's not.
Efort, desire, hunger, then yes
Value to the team maybe and understanding of what he brings in lay offs flicks, persistence in chasing lost causes. Then possibly
At the moment there is no one else and Robins knows that.
He's got to be money wise to the club value because he addresses all of the above also if we go back down then it will be more his level ability wise
It does make me wonder myself about the budget for next season.

He was on £600 a week in league 2. He'll be on no more than double that now

I’d give him a 1-year extension, maybe 2 years. This is on the proviso of him being no more than 4th choice.

Assuming we stay up would the wages from Biamou and Baka combined allow us to bring in a better replacement who can challenge Godden and Walker?

As an absolute back-up (which we've seen we've needed this year) he's fine - works hard, hassles defenders, can score the odd goal, but his movement etc isn't up to this level. So he could be useful in that respect.

Worst case scenario we go down it'd make quite a bit of sense to keep him IMO.

Initial instinct is we need to twist if we stay up and look for someone new. Plus he deserves a few seasons as a starter somewhere before he retires.

One eye on going down is why this will happen for me tbh

If we stay up we need to move Baka and Biamou on. I like Max and he has improved a lot since we signed him.

If we get relegated there maybe a case for offering a new contract.

Mind you he might be ridiculously cheap? Who knows?

He's not championship level but he's OK as a 4th choice striker on cheap wages.

We play 1 up front, we can't afford to have a quality 4th choice striker.

If he’s 4th choice what is Gyo ? He started on the bench behind an injured max today 😁

Well Biamou is now 3rd choice. Gyokeres is 4th choice.

I was saying Biamou would be fine as 4th choice next season. Release Baka and sign someone else =

Godden
Walker
A. N. Other
Biamou

I'd have him as third or fourth choice. Is a bit unfortunate he's had to become a first team regular, really!

Its pedantic but surely take the number 9 short off him

I’m sure robins will keep him - I would - 3 down to Lincoln and get Max on so to avoid any discussion about the game whatsoever

They don't do that much these days. Tends to be that you stick with your same number during your time. Exceptions being youth players, etc.

I bet they aren't too far off. Nothing wild there. Expect O'Hare a bit less, some of the others a bit more (like Dabo).

So having signed a new contract Dabo earns less than Hillsner - he is on £75 grand a year? Ha ha ha

Mark can you reply to me mate I asked you if you wanted a £500 bet that injured max will start ahead of Gyo next week ? As you alluded to him not playing ahead of max today as he “needed a rest”

Thanks 😁

I’m amazed pask earns more than Hyam rose and Dabo

That'll be based on Dabos old contract as he signed a new one at the end of September.

So he left a Dutch premier club and joined on £75 grand? Hillsner is signed on more from the German 3rd division and pask is one of our highest paid defenders?

If these figures are true it’s an absolute disgrace

I hate being negative but Jesus Christ, there’s no way we should be offering a contract to him in the championship

we will resign him - it’s the Sisu way

You’re probably right but that’s really disappointing. Nothing against him, I feel you feel the same way, but regardless of sentiment, there is absolutely no chance he should be playing championship football. Would rather see him playing regularly in league one or two as he deserves to play

Oh dear-if true this stinks of a Bakayoko scenario all over again.

Well to be pedantic that's not really being pedantic. I'm being slightly pedantic in irritatingly pulling you up on the use of the word pedantic when we can all live without me doing it.

But, squad numbers mean nothing now, do they? Gone are the days when a manager's tactical brilliance was playing their left back as #2, and their central midfielder as #3!

Firstly, I'd never be so dumb as to offer or agree to a £500 bet.

I think it's more likely they both start to be honest with Allen dropping back to the bench. Not me that said he needed a rest, Robins did. Commented that you could tell he was knackered in the 10 minutes he was on.
