Yes but say more. What exactly does that mean. Rental deal at the Ricoh? As much as I can’t be arsed to cast my mind back but I believe Wasps won’t do that unless CCFC sign something agreeing to indemnify them of future losses? Is it just back in Coventry at all costs?
Okay so if we are back at the Ricoh on a 10 year deal. Let’s assume that’s the same cost as what it costs us now and somehow they negotiate a relegation rental reduction. Would you/grendel be happy then if everything else continued?
Of course what I’m getting at is I don’t think some people will be happy until we get a sugar daddy
If we’re under new owners I’d see no reason we couldn’t get a decent deal, but as I’ve always said if we need a ground for financial reasons I’d support that too. Just play in Cov while you build it.
As for expectations, TBH I’m happy on the current model plus a bit for increased crowds. I don’t want to see us spending tens of millions, £5/6m a year investment in young up and coming players with the odd exciting loan from above and the odd bit of experience thrown in.
I’ve said before I think you could move the team on significantly with the same investment and increases in wage budget we had this season. If we spent what we did on Hamer, O’Hare, Walker, and Sheaf on a GK, CB, LCB, ST and added a couple of loans I’d be very happy.
Only difference at the Ricoh would be that would be closer to sustainable.
I fundamentally fail to believe there’s no a model for a club our size to stay at this level.
