Based on a handful of games, Gyokeres looks poor. Whether he's as poor as Biamou is debatable as Biamou has shown in 20-odd games that that he's hopelessly ineffective at this level.
Biamou has had two good games. Im yet to see one by Gyorkeres and from what Swansea fans said they’re still yet to see one

To me, watching it back its all Gyorkeres.

Picture 1) Gyorkeres is driving towards the right handside of the box (white arrow). He is running directly into Biamou's space.

Picture 2) if Biamou had stayed on the right he and Gyorkeres would have been in the same space ( gold arrow)

Picture 3), given Gyorkeres is driving wide into his space, Biamou is looking to move away from the space that Gyorkeres is driving into and get in the box (purple arrow)

Picture 4) if Gyorkeres had attacked the space and gone central (red arrow), Biamou can keep wide giving the option for rolling it across the goal (white arrow) or shooting himself.

Its cause and effect. Poor decision by Gyorkeres, means Biamou has to move out the space, and it was a poor run. I can only put it down to Gyorkeres had it in his mind he wanted to get it on his right foot so he could have a shot.

As I said during the name, both of them are utter clowns

Just watched the mix up with Biamou again... On second viewing, it's all on Max.

Below image probably doesn't do it justice but Gyökeres carries it waiting for the defender to be on him ready to then just roll it into Max for a free run at goal.

Wtf is Max thinking running across him from here?

Well, I think it was quite an intelligent run. He needs to stay onside and by running towards the centre he's getting himself closer the goal so he can see more of it. Gyokores should have the smarts to react to the run.

Bit harsh, that. I’ve watched it back this morning and the point Stu makes is perfectly valid. If Biamou doesn’t change his run then he and Gyo effectively bump into each other and makes life very easy for the defender. It’s all started by a couple of horrendous touches to try and get the ball under control by Gyo.

Players who don't regularly play together make cock-ups like this
Settled teams grow to instinctively know each others games
Especially the forward players making decoy runs and so on
From reading Robins' after match comments he seemed to praise both Max and Gyo so I guess that's how he sees it

I’ll watch again but from I recall Györkeres looked to play the pass at least once if not twice but Max ran towards him instead of into acres of space. Then just got in his way.

I think most of us have played a few games ourselves and will know that there are some when you just don't get the run of the ball no matter how hard you try. Also playing bit parts is difficult because you can be trying too hard to validate yourself. I genuinely appreciate his application because there is no denying that he tries to put a shift in, and think that there is a player in there somewhere.

I personally think Gyokores is a waste of a loan. He's done very little since coming here in an area where we were desperate for resource.

In hindsight I would've preferred a young hungry up and coming player from one of the top 6 teams. The likes of Harry Kane were loaned out to a few lower league clubs before becoming up there with one of the best in the world

Think Gorky hasn't played very regularly so I find it difficult to judge. He has moments of good and moments of poor decisions. Could be a player in there but doubt we'll ever know / get to experience it.

Biamou should have ran behind gyokeres into the space on the left of the defender... That's striker 101 surely? Either Dragging the defender to Biamou or the defender stays and Biamou receives the reverse pass

He has to bust his gut to get into that space there, but behind gyokeres 1614507345050.jpg

If he's Ostigards mate and the only way we can sign Osti is by signing him up too then I say sign him up.

Superb from O’hare. People will moan about his lack of assist. It’s clear from this scenario why his stats aren’t great!

Robins said max was immense but he must be talking shit because @Grendel & @fernandopartridge both said max was shit 🥴

To be fair it's just man management, Biamou did play well in periods but for Robins to say he was immense is surely just man management because he wasnt
He doesn’t need to come out and say it to the media tho if that’s not the case ?

So he’s come out saying he was immense when in private he’s saying he was shit ?
No, he's saying what he says to the media to the player too... It's man management, trying to keep him confident... He wasn't immense was he? He played decent in the first half, and had decent patches in the second

I say to my 8 year old she played well even if she just played OK for this very reason, to keep her confidence up

What should happen here is a striker should see where the goalkeeper is and think I'm not passing to you mate and lob him

For me Biamou should've continued running straight on and Gyo released the ball to him at that point and then changed direction to continue going more central, potentially blocking off the defender from getting to Max.

If the defender can continue getting across Max then has the option to either try his luck first time or try and play Gyo in in the centre, now unmarked as the defender has moved across to intercept max.

So pretty poor from both really.

But running across towards Gyo for me is the worst move as it puts them in the same area of the pitch and thus a bit easier for the defender to cover both, while making any pass to Max harder because now the defender is on the correct side to be able to block it meaning Gyo most likely action is to continue running towards the corner of the box making a shot more difficult.
