I'm so confused; according to some of the usual suspects Max is nowhere near the standard for the Champ and they have resorted to constant derision and criticism for months.........

Makes you think that they may have no idea what they are talking about....those who shout loudest etc.

well the fact this is about only the second game you’ve been able to make this observation all season kind of says it all

I’ve said he played well and said he was MOM against Rotherham

Perhaps if you were objective game by game on his performances you may be taken more seriously?

He had a great game today, contributed highly to a vital win. Most have rightly pointed that out and the best you could do is come on and try and point score. Pathetic.

Could do with fadz staying next season.. Despite the odd critic I actually think he's had a decent season.. Made a couple of errors but he's a tough bastard and sometimes teams need that.... Even if just a squad player, we should give him another year

depends how much investment we get in the summer but I can't help but think he can only be a positive presence in the dressing room even if he doesn't play as many games.

For me he's outperformed hyam and rose this season (bit harsher on rose as he's had time out) , obviously ostigard is the better player but today fadz showed that even at 34 he can do a job at the level

We have a tough job sorting that back line out next year

We've seen this season with strikers, that you need some kind of backup, anyway!

'Pathetic' for pointing out that one of our players shouldn't be consistently written off and subject to derision on a near weekly basis? That's an interesting conclusion but it's all about opinions. Have a good evening.

Let me understand your logic.
I'm not a fan of CCFC because I choose to defend our players from ridiculous abuse and constant derision?
Even you can see how ridiculous that statement is surely.........?
Maybe I should constantly call a taxi for Robins and call our players 'shite' week over week to prove I'm a real fan.... given your high standards.

It's one performance, when he's doing it more than every half a dozen games or more come back

If he plays like today, he won't get criticism. He might have to take out an injunction against you, however.

If Max has a rabbit I’d be making it a house rabbit from now on

What a feeling of relief and joy when the final whistle blew!

Wilson 6 (important save from Clarke but distribution poor including almost gifting them a goal)
Dabo 6 (passing unusually poor and seemed to be struggling with his energy levels. Needless and risky throw in across the back line)
McCallum 7 (caught out early on from the ball inside but after that defended pretty well)
Ostigard 6 (passing was wayward today. Defended well though)
McFadzean 10 (motm. Thought he was faultless. Dominated in the air. Blocked a likely goal after Wilson error)
Hyam 6 (did some timely interceptions but looked shaky on the ball, not helped by some poor passes too him)
Kelly 6 (passing poor again but great defensive positioning and organising)
James 8 (good energy throughout and some quality on the ball. Unlucky with shot that hit the post)
Hamer 6 (started really well but needs to learn to change the tempo)
O'Hare 8 (amazing work rate and pressing. Another assist as a result of this)
Biamou 8 (did well for the goal, unlucky with left foot volley, but game management last 15 was excellent)

Pask 8 (won every block, tackle and header after coming on)
Allen 6 (good energy and closing at the end)
Sheaf na

For me this is about right.

Despite being his biggest critic this season I'd probably give Hyam a 7 though, he was much, much better today.

Pleasantly surprised how well Kelly & James worked together, after the Blackburn game I wasn't sure they could play together but it worked fine today with Kelly clearly instructed to sit deeper in front of the back 3.

If he could cut out the pens given away and silly mistakes, he has more than a place in the squad next season. It's quite noticeable he is at his best against physical forward lines.

I think he's still comfortably our most reliable CB. He makes no more mistakes than the others & the penalties usually stem from trying to fix someone else's mistake too.

I was really impressed with James today, probably his best game since he signed.

If I had to pick Osti would be my CB of the season (so far). I take your point on errors the back 3 collectively have made far too many. He should be retained as he brings more than just performsnces to the squad, the scale of our ambitions will decide if he is a starter next season.

Ostigard makes numerous errors and without Mcfazdean the 3 at the back approach would be an utter clusterfuck

Biamou fadz brilliant

James best game for us

Special mention for Josh pask not spectacular but never lets us down.

Spot on. I know some people questioned the signing of James (cost wise) but when your main defensive midfielder/calming influence (Kelly) is likely to pick up injuries and isn’t getting any younger it was an understandable signing. Looked bad because Kelly got back quicker and Godden took longer to recover than planned but James is a quality player

If he played like he did today every week he wouldn't be 3rd or 4th choice striker, some of the criticism of him is off the scale bonkers and illicits equally bonkers defence of his performance from others, i like Max as a player but recognise he has weaknesses as do all of our strikers. I just try and ignore the overvthe top stuff. By his standards he had a very good game today and for someone whose played as much football as him he hasn't looked like he needs resting as some have, it's a 3 way tie for MOM today imo, between Fadz, O'Hare and Biamou.
