Thanks for clarifying what a 'full season' is. (y) We can probably round him up to 15 goals though because he was clearly playing with a niggle through many of the games. You not counting penalties won as assists btw?
No because winning a penalty isn't an assist, that's fantasy football points...

And 15 goals? That's like me saying godden would get 25, let's just round it up... Wouldn't happen
10 goals is a generous estimate too... He'd be sub most weeks so it's more like 4 or 5

Not sure why you're being sarcastic, I wasnt

It's exactly what you've done - you suggested Godden would have scored at a better rate than he has because he was playing through an injury.

Ok.. I'm suggesting godden would score 15-20 goals a season because he's far better... How's that sound

I'm also suggesting the planets will align with the moon and sun all at once before biamou scores 15 in a season... Sound good?

He's scored 32 league goals in his entire career

I've been through the godden stats with you... It was 4 in 10 before injury and came back played 5 a couple of which he played less than 20 minutes I believe and was clearly carrying still then went off injured for longer.

I think the 5 games upon return of injury are a bit harsh to judge him on tbh.

He also has more assists than Max this season

I have absolutely no doubt godden would score 15 goals in this division, he's too intelligent not too

He has 4 goals in 1032 minutes, a goal every 258 minutes, whilst playing mostly on his own and whilst struggling with a niggle for some of it, he was basically on a goal every other game before he had his first injury every 206 minutes

Biamou a goal every 413 minutes

Walker a goal every 251 minutes

Il give biamou his due, he would score 10 goals in a season at his current rate

I'm not trying to argue with you stu..

I already accept he's here next season as 3rd or 4th choice
You've completely missed the point.

My point wasn't about actual performances or who is better or not, I've already said Godden is our best striker.

My point was that Boosh had specially started after Biamous rotherham goal to not include it to make his stats look as bad as he could. Biamous goal stats aren't very good and don't need to be manipulated. So I was giving an example of how you can massage stats to suit your argument if you wished.

Not all strikers are the same. It has always been the case that you have out and out goal scorers and you have forwards who are not but contribute in other ways. Godden and Walker are goal scorers. It's like saying all midfielders should have a high ratio of assists. Some are chance creators and some contribute to the team in other ways.

Callum O'Hare or Walker wins that penalty it would be classed as an assist.

The focus is on the striker alot, more so because we've struggled to score..
I love o hare, I think he's been our best player so often this season but his lack of goals, even just 5 or 6 in a season... Would take some pressure and focus off the front men atleast.. 5 or 6 goals is potentially 5 or 6 wins

Much better. Because it's an opinion, that you are perfectly entitled to have (and one I also share), that isn't taking selected stats to add weight to your argument. Which is all Stupot's point really was. Sorry if i was sarcastic.

I'm actually coming round to the idea of him being 3rd or 4th choice next season anyway.

We need to use our budget well, more so next year than ever as we need to kick on of we stay up.

Getting 1 good striker in and keeping walker and Godden and Biamou is hopefully the plan.. Our money needs to go elsewhere

One other thing with of him being the third or fourth choice striker, is you could be fairly sure he'd be doing his utmost to go up in the pecking order.
Despite my thoughts on those who think he's the best thing since sliced bread I did say earlier in the season I'd be happy to keep him as 4th choice next season, although that was after the Rotherham game, probably his last really good game up until yesterday so maybe I was being reactionary.

Really I'd like 2 more strikers, in which case I want him moved on, but if we can only get one in and he hangs about as 4th choice, then so be it.

Ultimately, finding somebody who's happy to be fourth choice striker is easier said than done. They tend to be either poor, green, or mad. I doubt Godden or Walker would be happy being third choice, Baka's a busted flush, and then you have the lad from Rochdale who's a wild punt. So realistically, who else would you get to be fourth choice forward?

Yep it is a fair point. Although with Goddens injury record I don't see people lining up for him tbf, so he may just have to be happy with it.

Also just to add, I tend to prefer a young prospect as 4th choice. If we have/can find one.

I don't disagree, and medium term you'd be hoping the lad from Rochdale / somebody from our academy breaks through. That still leaves next season however, and not sure we have anybody you'd trust yet, while any serious prospects lower down would want to play fairly regularly.

We don’t score enough goals as it is we can hardly have a non goal scoring forward - he doesn’t even create many goals either - it’s also a myth he can play with his back to goal and bring players in - he’s poor at it - yesterday he was more involved exactly as he didn’t do that but instead often moved out wide

6 goals in 5 starts for Coventry
He started against Crawley in 2017-8 in League Two and scored twice. He also started against Mansfield and Luton in League Two and didn't start any games in our first League One season as far as I can see. So two goal in three League Two starts. But not good enough to start in the other 20 League Two games he played in and in which he only scored once (in the 2-1 defeat against Notts County away).

Then he made a further seven appeances from the bench in League One and failed to score.

How do you make that 6 goals in 5 starts?

I was using the logic of another poster who counted biamous goals off the bench but only counted started games
