The EFL are going to investigate if protocols are broken. What and how they gonna check on exactly what protocols have been broken retrospectively? Will they dock them points ...doubt it...probably just be a fine or slap on wrists if they can prove anything. Toothless and pointless regulator's.
Well without stating the bloomin obvious they have one hell of a problem just around the corner and it wasn’t beyond the whit of man to have decided what would happen if this was the case.

Season can’t be extended
You can’t rearrange a game that will put either team at a disadvantage and certainly not the opponent who’s done nothing wrong
How come we had to play when Walker and Wilson had Covid? And how come others weren’t isolating when they were positive?
If as looks likely Watford is cancelled how can they fit 3 extra games into 2 gaps?
Is it possible that Rotherham forfeit their season and all results with them are null and void? Is that the only fair way to do it if they are unable to fulfil all their fixtures?

Am I getting ahead of myself? It was always likely teams would have Covid outbreaks

Routine to "investigate" every postponement like this.
Standard response.
Not sure what they can do.
As people have said, main problem now is rearranging our fixture.
Yes, it will more than likely disadvantage Rotherham, but now, with lack of available slots, us too.

Lots of Wendies fans saying their players haven't gone down with it after the game, so why Rotherham??

can't see a points deduction, probably a fine but how will they get the games in?

If thats the case we lose 3 and Birmingham lose 1

Ultimately Rotherham are going to be screwed having to play 3 games a week over April. Teams in the current climate are struggling with the 2 games a week. They will get so many injuries and fatigue over that period.

Factor in travel. Can see that they do it logistically at least to not suit them. To suit their opponents.

This is a complete mess. Erm will have to explain quickly how this is going to effect their opponents quickly.

So we’ve had multiple cases of COVID and managed to play every game. They’ve had multiple cases and postponed 6 games. It’s not on.
Didnt Derby have a similar problem and had to play their u21s in a couple of games, the same for the Villa so why arnt they being told to field a team even if it means they only have a small bench

I was laughing after 30 mins. We didn’t leave our half and nor did they. My uncle went down to the casino and called it a disgrace.

me and my bro joked Pre game it would be 0-0 didn’t think it would be so obvious
Im just waiting now for a makem to read this and there will be a 100 page thread on their forum about us again

The Morecambe keeper was in the L2 team of the week. Did you leave before he pulled off that save?

Whoever picked that didn’t watch the game. Either that or no other keeper did anything.

I stayed for the whole game. I think we had about 2 shots on target the whole game.

don’t get me wrong I justified it by - we needed a point we played for a point, the factMorecambe didn’t leave their half was neither here or there

Justified by
Ccfc. Championship
Morecambe League 2 play off zone
Barnet about to drop into conference south

You are correct but that rule was only applicable in the FA Cup, not the league.

Do we know if the Rotherham squad are still training ? If they are then there is a problem . If not then their fitness will be an issue for them and not who they are playing.

Presumably their players can't leave their homes if they are isolating?. Or can those who haven't tested positive go out for runs etc (presumably not, in case they subsequently test positive)

Never seen anything like it. On a few occasions our winger (Kyle Ried!?) dribbled down the line, got to the corner flag then turned back around and ran to the halfway line instead of crossing. Also remember Bayliss or Westbrooke arriving late in the box and purposely launching his shot into the stand. I was amazed the EFL didn’t look into it.

Just waiting for the journalist's articles to appear of the remaining squad members training down the local parks?
Secret drone footage, electronic ankle tags etc.

Final thought on any rearranged game v Rotherham. They are a tall physical team (Smith, Crooks etc) and pose a significant aerial threat, so to arrange a game during the international break, when Ostigard would be missing, would give us a serious disadvantage.

We were entitled to play defensive as were they, and that’s what happened they had no reason to leave their half and neither did we. Proper bizarre game that

I remember Bayliss skipped past a couple of players early on and worked the keeper. The glare he got from Doyle was pretty telling. I don’t think either side really stopped playing until the second half though

Just looked at the international break period and there’s thirteen days between the scheduled fixtures from March 20th. to April 2nd that’s Good Friday, so there’s enough days there to fit two games in the only issue is if clubs have players away on international duty they could be disadvantaged so how the EFL get round that I’m not sure, the only other gap as I see it is the last week of the season May1st to May8th.
I wonder if the EFL can force clubs to play if they have players away on international duty as I think it is a UEFA directive.

Why should we agree to play in the international break if we are going to be missing even one player?

That’s what I am saying Rotherham are three games adrift counting us and possibly Watford bit of a dilemma for the EFL.
How many players do we have likely to be away on international duty ?

People on twitter shouting about how Rotherham will have to play 3 games a week, think most have forgotten it takes two to tango, it would mean we would also have to play 3 matches that week aswell, again, putting us at a disadvantage.

Why would it? We’ve got plenty of free mid weeks we can fit them in.

They’re already playing two a week every week after the break until the last week of the season.

As the issue is with Rotherham and now us, it’s up to us to agree any new proposed date for the re-arranged fixture.
