Any players worth taking from Wednesday when they are relegated ?
Id take Westwood back if it was the right deal re wages

Westwood is too injury prone these days.

Bannan for certain. Iorfa isn’t bad either.
According to the stats iirc Bannon is the second most effective midfielder in the Championship, and I believe out of contract at the end of the season. Worth a look although there is bound to be competition

He signed a new 2yr contract a few weeks ago.

My worry was Karanka would go. He's a poor manager. This might give them a lift

His departure was inevitable.

I also don't necessarily buy that Karanka's ability as a manager was the primary cause of all their on the field issues anyway. Their squad is pretty poor overall.

As others have said I think it matters little who's in charge as it will take a monumental effort to improve their fortunes. Their only glimmer of hope of staying up is if Rotherham struggle to cope with their backlog of games.

Birmingham look like another case where an egotistical owner gets the hump because he hasn't had a return on the money he's put in
What good can sacking a manager at this point in the season do if they don't have a successor in place ready to come in?

If Birmingham were going to part ways with Karanka they should have made a more proactive decision in January. So, as bad as the results have been they may as well have just stuck with him.

I'd be surprised if anyone reputable (or potentially anyone at all) filled the role. There's little incentive for them to join Birmingham at this point and as I've already said - given that the club's Championship survival is based on whether Rotherham can cope with their fixture backlog, any incoming manager will be faced with a hugely difficult task to keep them up.

Yeah I had to smile when a few people said he'd never make it in the Premier League

He played in the top league before and can’t have been outstanding as there wasn’t a queue to sign him when they went down. He will be playing against far better players and his overall time on the ball in the game will be limited as the opposition will keep it well. He has looked a good player this year and there is a more than fair chance we will be seeing him again in twelve months.

He looked really good at the start of last season but declined along with the whole team.
I think he's destined for a career in the premiership.
