If some of these players want to earn new contracts they are certainly not showing it,going on last nights very poor performance.Or perhaps they dont want to start playing at the Ricoh again.

Need to hoof at least 10 of them regardless.

Robins will know he needs a near total squad rebuild to progress.

Will Joy back him?

It's a shorter list on who we retain in the summer.

We've played well more often than played like we did last night. We're inconsistent, that's why we're not top of the league. What do you expect?

Robins will know players need to go and in the past he has shown little sentimentality. Remember him getting a lot of stick for getting rid of fan favourites who had got us up from L2.

That said I think anyone who is expecting a big chunk of the squad to be replaced with genuine Championship quality players is in for a shock. Even with the Ricoh return the budget won't be there for that.

Behave. We all know we need gradually upgrade, but despite the obvious gaffes, the remaining 10 players didn't down tools. Luton are stronger all round than us at the moment due to having had an extra season in this division, and we are likely to be nearer where they currently are next season ( or more hopefully Barnsley!). Saying players don't want to play at The Ricoh, so are not performing now. Really? Can't actually believe that you think that yourself.

Ideally Robins should probably retain Jones, Kelly and McFadz as they're relatively inexpensive and would act as suitable fringe players. The players I'd happily move on are Biamou, Baka and Jordan Thompson.

Assuming we remain in the Championship I'd also activate Hyam's 1 year option and put him on the market, as I don't see any reason why a club in League One wouldn't put a bid in as he'd be an attractive option for a club looking to achieve promotion.

Ive expected nothing less than where we are at.

If we stay up its a massive achievement from this squad and I applaud them for it. Basically a league one team.

However, as I said if we want to progress we need a complete overhaul.

I love this forum
After Derby we were amazing
Today awful

If we had a decent keeper last night, and Max 1st shot was 1cm to the left, all would be very different today
We are very, very naive, which we must put a stop to = We need defenders to defend in the 1st instance
We need a squad that can be trusted - not just 1-11 , who playing twice a week at such a young age get burn out

but the way people are going on !!

If we go down Robins will try and keep as much of the squad as he can. The likes of Shipley, Fadz, Hyam will be mainstays again next year.

Would we really have needed 10 different players last night to make a difference? Or do we just need a forward that could have banged in a couple of the chances Biamou had and a keeper that could have prevented both their goals?

Don't think either of those things are huge asks and if we had them the mood would be very different on here this morning.

Yes definitely need an overhaul for next season.

But for OP to say the players aren't playing for a new contract is ridiculous when we've played some really good football at times this season. It was just a bad day at the office.

Let’s not go over the top due to an adverse result had one of Max good chances gone in things and therefore fan reaction might be a lot different, personally I’m not bothered about contracts who should get one or who shouldn’t I’m more interested who comes in get the right quality in the right areas will improve the whole squad and team there will be a lot of players released this summer the quality will be there.

I don't think we need 10 new players.

But we definitely need 5 or 6 of quality

Keeper
LWB
CB + Osti ideally
Attacking Mid in the OHare Mould - Toral/ Paterson out of contract
2 strikers in the Collins/ Stockley Mould

Can we afford to go into another season without wingers? Without wingers we basically can’t revert to 4 at the back. It really hampers us.

I’d like us to sign Attacking Midfielders who can also play wide, like Paterson as you have suggested.

Agreed.

I know it's easy to say but if you remove Wilson, Hyam, McCallum and Biamou from that team and replace them with suitable quality it becomes a side that's more than capable of achieving a mid-table finish.

Got Godden and Walker under contract up top. Need a leading striker who is better than both of them however main position we have to improve is CB.

Fadz - give him a year. Has made some mistakes but often when other players have put him in massive shit. Would be worried if he starts more than half of the games next year though.

Rose - has had a poor year but after a full pre season with no injuries he should be okay next season. Will probably be a starter in the 3 at the back next season if injury free

Hyam - got to let go. Simply not good enough.

That leaves 2 starting CB’s needed. 1 MUST be a left footer. Can’t have this Hyam situation again.

Let’s be honest. It all comes down to whether we have another L1 budget or whether the club can now afford to pay Championship players.

If we have the budget to replace them there’s not a single player out of contract this summer I’d renew.

I'm happy to go with a smaller squad of higher quality, we have a relatively small playing squad anyway due to the amount of duds we sign.

If we stay up we desperately need a top quality striker, a new keeper, and a solid central defender with pace but obviously these are not going to come cheap. Get rid of Biamou, Baka, Kasta, Jobello (doesn’t look like he is going to get any game time) and sell Hyam. I would also see if we can get out of the Sheaf deal (probably not).

The other thing we need to do is stop picking up red cards
Apparently that was the 6th last night and at least one other was also given in the first half of a game
It's hard enough as a L1 squad in the Championship with 11 players on the field
