Not much to say. I just thought we haven't had a Max thread for a while

It isn’t picking Max it’s expecting him to play up front on his own, it isn’t working, the system of play isn’t working, players get knocked on , Sheaf, Shipley, Allen, question how many games do we win without them.

He's an adequate 5-10 goal a season target man who needs to be played either alongside a goalscorer or in a team with wingers/AMs midfielders who chip in with plenty of goals.

O'Hare is a talented but wasteful AM who again needs players with an end product around him.

Having the two of them as our only attacking players isn't going to deliver, but doesn't mean they are both shit... I don't see what is hard to grasp for many.

It doesn't necessarily follow that another striker would have that same chance. They may have had different chances. When people say Walker, or Baka, or Godden would have scored that, perhaps they would have , but they may not have been there to score it. If a striker is missing chances he must be doing something right to have chances to miss. That said Max misses too many

I like him as a bloke, he seems very committed to the club and has certainly made contributions to our success in the time he’s been here, however, he’s simply not good enough and shouldn’t be starting games for us in the Championship.
You could say the same about :-
Wilson
Marosi
Mason
Pask
Hyam
Allen
Shipley
Jobello
Hilssner
Kastaneer
Bakayoko

Which just shows you what MR is battling with.
We have a squad which lacks the quality to compete at this level, and we dont have enough budget to change things over night.

If we stay up this season, we need to have a massive clear out, and sisu will need to continue to back the gaffer if we are to avoid another relegation scrap next year.

I fancied Max to score today
Unfortunately I was wrong
The small consolation is that it's bought a bit more time for Walker and Godden to get fit
Yes hopefully by the time of the next match they will be much closer to full fitness

If robins tells the team biamou is playing the next game I hope someone takes the Ian Botham role and considers him to be Geoffrey Boycott in the next training session

Believe me, if either Walker or Godden are match fit they would start ahead if Max
Robins has no sentimentality when it comes to picking the team

To his credit he does win a fair few flick ons. If MR must play him, he needs someone in close support, or its a waste.

Gorkyress must be shite
Fekkin hell I'd completely forgotten all about him. Been calling for Walker or Godden thinking Baka the only option.

Don't know of any fresh injury but he hasn't looked to have the same energy since he came back from covid
The entire set up doesn’t look right no idea if issues behind the scenes but none of them look happy to be there last 2 games

Not Max’s fault that he was playing non league football four years ago, and he’s the best fit option we’ve got.

Gyokeres goes into the same category as Andre Wright, Denzel Slager and the likes.

How can they be worse than biamou - he’s a disaster zone
All three try hard but lack the quality of Walker or Godden
Walker scored two against Brentford
One was a streaky penalty and the other a nice snap shot on the turn which illustrates his superiority over the other three
But he hasn't shown great energy levels so I guess if Robins decides it's one up top to start it won't be Walker
