If you had asked me who the under 21 manager was I would have had no idea, so he is perfect for the fa doesn’t rock the boat and probably has a ton of coaching badges. Unfortunately as a manager he has no idea. The only defence I would have for him is what a poor group of players he has.

I havent watched a single England match since we lost to Croatia in the WC. Partly down to games now being on Sky, mostly because its like pulling teeth!

I hardly bother watching but I am not a big international football fan and wouldn’t miss it if it didn’t exist and believe it only does to make fifa money. They like to have nice steady managers for England that don’t cause any issues or question to much at the fa.

so you haven't watched the last 27 England games (in which they have score 68 goals), but feel qualified to judge the quality of football in these games?

There was a point made during yesterday’s game that a lot of the potential u21s were getting called up to the first team and that was hampering the quality (not sure I buy that, to be honest). I’ve thought for years that young players should do a full campaign of u21 internationals before being considered for the first team. More playing experience and also (hopefully) a level of tournament experience. Don’t really see the need for Bellingham to be in the full squad at 17, no matter how good he is or may be.

It would just be one 2-year campaign, though. Do that from age 16 to 18 if you’re that good, then be eligible for the first team from 18.

I think Southgate has actually done ok and the criticism from some quarters is OTT based on his actual results.

But the appointment of Boothroyd is mind boggling. A real footballing dinosaur tactically and that role needs someone forward thinking.

I would imagine that Boothroyd talks a fantastic game and that baffled the useless fa into giving him the job. But seeing him standing there last night he looked clueless. Surely the manager should be like the players looking to get the top job.

I've watched all of them , I don't think we are very good under Southgate...lose to good sides almost every time ...we've beat Belgium and Spain...but lost to France Belgium 3 times , Denmark got 4 points from us and Holland..we beat all the sides we should beat but its often very very boring

Boring, defense minded football and mediocre results, all masked by a WC semi. A tournament where England only played 2 decent teams and lost 3 times.
Hopefully he'll be gone after the Euros.

He should of gone after the last big tournament another tactically weak manager at that level,against Croatia they overloaded our left hand side he sat and didn’t know how to react...his handling of Jack grealish has turned the on the fence fans against him but again it’s another case of a player not playing for one of the big clubs The FA need to get rid and fast

The problem for England was when they had the golden generation it was generally a golden generation but others teams players were even better.
